Firstly I must say the food is delicious. This is my second time at this place in two days. However, I received such bad customer service from a hostess called "Beibei Xu", I had to give it two stars. It also hurts me that I couldnt justify myself into tipping as I always tip anywhere I go and like irrespective of the customer service a good 20%. Firstly I was shown to my seat at around 12:05pm, then the great Beibei never comes for almost 15 mins till I had to walk upto her. Even though she was perfectly well serving everyoneelse( i do hope she is not being racist since these *everyoneelse were indeed white) beside my table and she ignores me for solid 15mins. I tell her I am ready after I walk upto her. After that she comments that I should not eat pork. I am sorry you found "my eating pork" habit offensive. However, once I order a salad and my entree, she brings in my bill at 12:22pm before I was served any food. After a while my food comes in without my salad. Then I walk upto her again from my table while still eating since she faked blindness/deafness when I tried to call her. I tell her that I didnt get my salad and asked to not worry and just cancel the salad order. She offers to give to me for free. I say ok, thinking this is a redeeming quality in an exceptionally bad customer service. Anyway it is not so, she takes the checks, cash and cards from everyoneelse at their tables but not mine. So, I walk to the front counter to pay my bill, since I am getting late to work by this point and she still ignores even though she was there and so I ask someoneelse to take my credit card so that I can pay the bill. Once the bill is print ed at the front desk, she is quite apt at pointing out that she didnt charge for the salad but just for the entree. I could not bring myslef to tip, but Beibei Xu doesnt stop there. She is quite unprofessional enough to comment that I didnt tip her to another associate of hers in front of me. This ordeal made me feel discriminated when she was serving everyoneelse well but not me.
So in being fair, the food was good. I would advise ordering it online and picking it if you dont want to be treated badly by Beibei XU. At-least thats what...
Read moreReally bad service at this location. We love Dough Zone, and it's our closest location, but we'll never come back. The management should look into the shift that worked 5-6 pm on May 2 as they do no care about customers and demand tips.
When we came, there were 2-3 tables, including ours, and 4 wait staff. They NEVER looked at our table, never cleaned the plates (our table was covered in plates, zero space), they ignored waving, questions, ask to bring boxes to go, I had to go chase them to ask something, and we were one of the closest table where they were. They were the most inattentive wait staff I've seen in my life (I worked as a waitress in my youth, I can't imagine such ignore of the customers).
We agreed with my partner that we won't leave tips. The bill was ~$48 and I paid with gift card of $50. The waiter who has been ignoring us or talking to us with sour face came with a pay terminal, used gift card and then said: "will you pay tips with debit or credit card?". Like this! I didn't understand, she said that tips can't be paid by gift card, so did I want to pay tips with credit or debit. I said that actually, we didn't plan to leave tips, because the service was horrible. Do you think she asked why? Apologized? She kept staying with paying machine asking me what card I'll pay tips with. I said I can maximum give 10%. She promptly inserted $0.01 on terminal, moved to tips page, gave to me and rushed away. I added $4 and still feel nauseous for doing this. Why did I give money to the abuser of a server? Servers in WA are paid at least minimum rate, same as cashiers, nannies at daycare etc. 20% tips are from the past (or some other states now) where wait stuff was paid $3-4 per hour and depended on tips. And even then, 20% are never mandatory, but for good service. The wait stuff that ignored us all evening and talked to us with sour faces, should not have an expectation of getting tips.
Our Friday...
Read moreMy wife and I were looking for a place that serves dumplings and noodles for New Year's and we're new to the area. We found Dough Zone Dumpling House in Redmond and we were sadly disappointed. We visited on New Year's day for dinner time and we expected a little bit of a wait. The check in process on a tablet wasn't bad, but by the time we got seated no explanation of the restaurant or the experience was given and we were not served a menu, no order checklist, nor received an apology for the mix up or the wait. We didn't get a checklist to order our food until we asked 20 minutes later waiting to be served. Total wait time from checking in to table was 15 minutes. Total time from getting seated to getting our order taken 20 minutes. Total time for all our food to get served 10 minutes. It was busy, but it looked liked they only had 3 people staffed in the front. You would think on a holiday the business would staff more people. The food was mediocre. We ordered the chicken xiao long bao and it was ok until it started to cool then it started to get gloppy, we had some vegetarian options for my wife, but the selection was limited. We got the vegetable potstickers which were mushy, onion pancake which was bland, and the onion soy sauce noodles which were oily and flavorless. We've had dumpling noodle house experiences before and will not be returning to this establishment or any of it's other franchises. We also have 2 small toddlers that weren't accommodated well. No one offered us a high chair or a booster seat, no one asked for cups with lids we had to request and there was no kids...
