Restaurant should be named Betos El Terrible Taqueria let’s start there….Went to get Mexican food for me and my mom from El Terrible, I ordered two Asada burritos no problem that come with rice and beans no problem. Got the in about 5 min after I sat down. Immediately starting eating in the car while parked in their lot.

1st bite I felt something cold I thought hmm maybe the salsa and kept eating til I noticed campbells chicken noodle type of things in the middle of the burrito so I picked a few out took pics then went inside and showed the pics and asked what that was, they said jack cheese but the texture was weird and it didn’t melt, I took a few bites them decided I couldn’t do it and definitely didn’t feel right bringing that back to my mom, I tasted the rice because I wanted a good taste in my mouth but that ended up being mushy rice they shldve thrown out. Couldn’t win with this place

I probably should’ve asked to speak with a manager, tell him about the food, asked for a refund and left but I just walked and before closing the car door I sat the food down on the white divider on the pavement and drove off..

il save the hassle of arguing for a refund, il take the loose of $31.xx and the the tip I gave and just gonna go to a spot that makes there...

The food is O.K. not great by any means though. Perhaps if you really like food that is on the bland side. The staff leaves this vivid impression that they would be much less un-happy if you just went to another restaurant. The order taker appears to be recovering from a hang over but it might be possible to squeeze a smile out of him on a good day, the older woman who I think owns the place... she will certainly be less miserable if you eat elsewhere too. For some reason this place is always busy, so you have to wait for quite awhile to experience for yourself the lackluster service and not really very mexicany food.

3yrs later... I have to say that things have improved considerably. Not the kind you can tell just by glancing, but the significant ones like a friendlier staff. I don't notice any significant change in the food either but it is still good. Not great -I prefer a bit more pizazz with my mexican- still, this is a good choice if you are nearby. Can I change my stars? It has to be worth a solid three now. Nothing to gripe...

Beto's is a long-time favorite in Reno. It's almost always packed during the lunch and dinner hours. I really like the food they serve. And it's one of the few places that serve grilled Serrano peppers as a side. The food seems really authentic, which is what I like about it.

The staff are fine, not always too friendly, but they get the job done. If it's busy, don't forget to get everything you need the first time at the counter because you may not find it easy to get someone's attention once you sit down to eat. I'm not saying it's impossible but it can be challenging.

Parking can be a hassle, as the parking lot isn't big enough and parking on the street is often crowded. It's doable, just know that you may have to hunt around for a minute.

Be aware also that the bathroom is located outside, which isn't a big deal but it can be unpleasant, and doesn't feel real safe going out there at night, as the lighting isn't good.

Overall, I like Beto's, and from what I can tell, slot of other...

Ok so this is my second time posting a 5star review on this very special place to eat!! It's been a few years since I last ate here and nothing has changed the absolute best quality of food service that this place has owned for generations . This restaurant makes my number one favorite dish ... ... The carne asada fries!!! I have had others since and aside from a taco truck in Sacramento none other comes close . I had a spiritual experience the first time I took a bite of this perfect dish!! And the taco truck could only match the quality of this place. Because perfect is perfect. Even beto's in Sacramento couldn't match this restaurant's carne asada fries. This is a must stop if you are in Reno NV they're located on West 5th St across from the northern NV hopes wellness center. You gotta try these fries. The key is to dip the bite into the salsa and you gotta request extra salsa. I'm sorry that you only got the last bite. I tried!!! Also even if you eat here order it to go you get more!! My trick.

I’ve been going here a couple of times now and it’s been great. The burritos are priced pretty well and the quality is good. However, today I didn’t have a great experience. I’m allergic to avocados and ordered as I usually do by asking for no guacamole in my burrito. When I get my burrito and take a bite, inside is guacamole. That’s fine, mistakes happen. I tell the cashier that I have guacamole in my burrito and that I have an avocado allergy, and if I could get it remade. When I get my remade burrito, I take a look inside to make sure there’s no avocado and to my surprise, there’s a piece of avocado. I decided to open up the rest of the burrito and I find another small piece. While I understand food contamination is possible, I really can’t see a reasonable explanation for how this could have happened, especially since I mentioned that I had a food allergy. So the bottom line is that I don’t recommend going to this place if you have food allergies. I certainly won’t be going back.

Absolutely the worst Mexican food in Reno. Took a full hour for everyone to get served. Would serve us separately. By the end one of my other colleagues still hadn't gotten his food by the time we were all done , that's when he received it! It was very unsanitary and I just called the health department to advice them this. My colleagues and I both got diarrhea from this place. The meat was very hard and dry, not taste. They also had flies ( DEAD ) hanging on the air vent so when it's blowing the dead flies land on your food. Just please save your money and eat elsewhere everyone. I can assure you there is better places to eat and I hope this place shuts down! Called health department also💙
