I recently dined at Clove for my B'day, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Here are the main issues I encountered: Service: The service was extremely slow and rude. Despite having a reservation after walked in, we had to wait 20 minutes to be seated while. Once seated, it took another 15-20 minutes for a waiter to take our order. Throughout the meal, it was difficult to get the attention of the staff, and they were not attentive or friendly. Additionally, the staff seemed to exhibit discriminatory behavior towards Other South Asian-looking customers except Indians, which was very upsetting. When we asked for appetizer plates, they gave dining plates. They don’t remember who ordered what and put food all over and gone. Food Quality: The food is ok. I ordered goat meat, but it was full of machine cut bones and ordinary. The side dishes were cold and lacked flavor (more like daily Indian home cooking). For five people we had a tiny bowl of rice which was cheap offer for 3 meat dishes. Cleanliness: The restaurant was not clean. The table had crumbs from previous diners, and the floor under our table was sticky. Most disturbingly, the men's bathrooms were overflowing and leaking into the main bathroom area, which was gross and unhygienic and unsafe. Ambiance: The ambiance was nice but too loud. The music was too loud, making it difficult to have a conversation. Additionally, the lighting was dim, and it was hard to read the menu without using our phone flashlights. Value for Money: For the quality of food and service received, the prices were exorbitant. We felt that we did not get our money's worth. Customer Respect: There seemed to be a lack of respect for customers who were not of Indian descent and white. This discriminatory attitude is unacceptable and made the dining experience very uncomfortable. Overall, my experience at Clove was disappointing. I wanted to try a new restaurant, but my first impression was very bad with Bias vibes. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and makes the necessary improvements. Remember Not only Indian and White customers matter, but all also other customers’ matter. You gave that negative vibe from front desk and until bill is paid. We had a negative emotional experience. You guys need to...
Read moreClove is a new restaurant at Renton Landing and it is the Crown Jewel of Indian Restaurants! For my second time there, I was part of a group of 14 who attended for lunch and it was astounding, as was my first experience there. I have been to many Indian restaurants in my time however none is better than Clove. The atmosphere and modern design is very welcoming and stylish with beautiful teal color schemes. The magnificent bar with the built in circular glass fireplace is awesome. There is also plenty of outdoor seating for those who prefer. We started with some fantastic drinks including non-alcoholic mocktails and they were all masterfully prepared and presented. My favourite drink is the Spicy Clove Mule as it is aromatic, flavourful and unique. The presentation of all the dishes is top notch and the team of expert chefs from India clearly take great pride in their creations. There were many meat and veggie options to choose from and the food was absolutely exceptional! I had the Rasgula Chat and the Street Kachori starters both of which I had never experienced before and they were superb! The fine slivers of ginger infused with the sauce and the garnish really added to the flavour of the Chat. We also had the Sarso Salmon Tikka which was amazing. We ordered and shared the Paneer Tacos and the Tandoori Chicken Tacos which were very good. Other items we had included the Chicken Malai Tikka, the Tandoori Chicken and the Goat Curry with two different types of Naan. Some of our group had vegetarian dishes including Soya Chaap and Malai Kofta. These were all mouthwatering and delectable! To finish off our meal we tried the Malai Kulfi Falooda dessert which was utterly heavenly and really hit the spot. The service was spectacular from start to finish with the staff being very attentive and polite. It was evident that they take pleasure in working at such a fine establishment. As we were leaving, we noted that the restaurant was becoming even busier with more people entering the lobby and it was clearly evident that Clove is very popular. I can hardly wait for the opportunity to attend again as Clove is hands down the best experience you will find when it comes to an exquisite...
Read moreYou know, after nearly a decade of navigating the culinary currents of the Seattle area, I'm almost embarrassed to admit that Clove in Renton somehow managed to fly under my radar. It's like finding out your favorite band had a secret album you never knew about – a pleasant surprise, but also, "where have you been all my life?!" But oh, what a delicious discovery it was! Stepping into Clove, I was immediately struck by a feeling of anticipation, and my taste buds were not disappointed. We embarked on a culinary journey that included the creamy, dreamy Malai Kofta, the perfectly spiced Aloo Gobhi, and the intriguingly named Chicken Latpata. Each dish held its own, a testament to distinct flavors and a spice level that was, dare I say, just right – a delicate dance between warmth and zest, without overwhelming the palate. And let's talk about the bread. Oh, the bread! The Roti and Naan boasted that ideal amount of roast, a subtle char that hints at perfection without venturing into burnt territory. And the Rumali Roti? So soft, it practically melted in your mouth. A truly good bread, in my humble opinion, is a divine experience, and Clove's offerings were dancing on the edge of divinity. Almost there, and definitely memorable. My only minor quibble, and I truly hope it was a one-time oversight, was the lack of soap and tissue in the women's restroom. A small detail, perhaps, but one that can make a big difference. However, I'm confident that with food this good, the management will be on top of such things. All in all, Clove is a delightful spot that has officially earned its place on my...
