I went to float Seattle way back in 2018 and I’m very excited to be back again! I’ve moved to Tacoma but will happily travel to Renton for this wonderful company. I’m so excited to see how they have grown. They think of all the nice touches of everything you might need and it’s clear they use eco friendly products which is very important to me. I’m just starting out again but my first float in almost 7 years was great and I can’t wait to build on each one. I think everyone could benefit from detachment from screens, social media, and stimulation from our lives for an hour to just “be”. More now than ever. Before experiencing a float, I thought I would have a hard time being able to clear my mind for that long, especially in such intense times in the world. But in the tank, I find myself easily being in the moment, listening to my breath, my heartbeat, and sometimes watching swirling colors from my eyes trying to focus in the dark. Other times it feels like I’m just a brain floating in space with no body which is a pretty wonderful thing.

I had an amazing experience here recently, and not my first one.

To start, I arrived a few minutes early and rather than make me wait the staff offered a different room that was already available. The room as well as the entire place were spotless. Everything clean and fresh.

The room itself manages to be minimalist while providing everything I needed. After a quick shower and rinse I installed the provided ear plugs, put petroleum jelly on a cut in a finger , grabbed a wash cloth just in case, and entered the tank where I stayed in blissful silent sensory deprivation for an hour.

I don't know what combination of factors does it, the relaxing as I notice tension and it releases, the darkness and silence, the virtual lack of a sense of anything touching the body... but somehow I enter into a wonderland of inner feeling and free flowing ideas.
