Stopped at this restaurant on the way to Bishop and was pleasantly surprised. The food was authentic Mexican and tasted just like home in San Diego. My wife had a beef taco and tamale and for a 5 foot two woman she ate it all :-) I had a beef taco and Tostado with rice and beans, tasted great and filled me up. We had chips, salsa and guacamole. The chips and guac were amazing. The salsa wasn’t really that hot for me, but then again could be for someone else . There’s plenty of parking off the main street. I took a picture of the front door because it’s around the front and it’s a little hard to find if you don’t know what to look. They have a full bar and two rooms for drinking and dining. They have a new patio, but are not allowed to serve alcoholic beverages outside as of yet, although they have applied. Highly recommend this if you need Mexican food, fix food and service with a smile Forgot to add we had two mango margaritas and as you can see from the pictures they were massive. :-)

We stopped here for a quick brunch before we headed out to Death Valley and were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. The complementary chips and salsa were delicious too and it did seem like the chips were fresh. They were happy to accommodate vegetarian preferences. The chili relleno was not too breaded as it is in most places. The rice and breads were great. I was not a huge fan of the vegetarian burrito as it was primarily roasted vegetable (zucchini etc.) inside. I should have asked them to add guacamole on the vegetarian taco as well as I’m sure they would have considered it. I do want to mention that my friends who ordered the fish and shrimp options were really happy with their order.

2017 review: Server was attentive. Brought out chips and salsa almost immediately after we sat down. The salsa was yummy with a nice amount of spice. The taco combo plate was good. Jan2018 update: Downgraded from 4 stars to 3 stars. Visited the place a year later. A different type of service this time. Look a while for the server to take our order. Chips and salsa never came. Asked about the chip and finally someone said they are making a new batch, then another server came later to say they were all out. We order an appetizer instead to tie us over until the meal came. The meals came out first. The appetizer came out after one of the members of the party finished the meal already.

Our favorite restaurant*I can’t say enough good things about Olvera’s! It’s become a go-to spot for me and my entire family, thanks to their mouthwatering dishes and the warm, welcoming vibe from every employee. Here’s what stands out:

Friendly Employees: From the moment we walk in, the staff greets us like old friends. They’re always quick with a smile and genuinely seem to enjoy making sure we have a fantastic time. Delicious Food: My absolute favorite is the Mexican Flag—with no beans and all rice. The combination of flavors in that dish is pure heaven, and it’s always perfectly cooked and generously portioned. Family Atmosphere: Whether I’m dining with just one other person or bringing the whole family along, the atmosphere feels cozy and inviting. We never feel rushed, and the staff makes every visit feel special. Consistent Quality: No matter how many times we go, the food is always spot-on. It’s great to know we can count on Olvera’s for an amazing meal every single time. If you’re in the mood for delicious, authentic Mexican food served by some of the friendliest people around, you can’t go wrong with Olvera’s. It’s definitely earned a top spot on our favorite...

Ordered through door dash yesterday 5/29 scheduled my pickup for 11:30-11:45 make it to the restaurant at 11:50 after work only to be told my order had been picked up by someone else. A gentleman then told me that they were preparing my food again. Joy now I have to wait for a order that was placed before the restaurant even opened. 3-5 minutes later they come out with my order and I get home the tacos rice and beans were cold and the taco shells were hard as a brick. I ordered the two taco combo as well as a burrito for my lunch. Get to my second job heat the burrito and get halfway through it. Mind you it's 1 am when I take my lunch break get over halfway through the burrito and there was a small piece of metal in the meat . Never again will I...
