I recently had the opportunity to dine at Rapids Rays and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. We ordered their signature burger with high expectations, but to my dismay, it was undercooked and left a loved one with stomach problems. In this review, I will share my honest feedback about the quality of the food and the negative impact it had on my dining experience. When I received my burger at Rapids Rays, I immediately noticed that the patty was pink and slightly raw in the center. This was a clear indication that it was not cooked thoroughly. Considering the potential health risks associated with undercooked meat, I was disappointed and concerned. Despite my initial hesitation, I decided to give it a try, hoping that it was just a minor mistake. Unfortunately, my optimism was short-lived. As we started eating the burger, Me and my loved one could taste the rawness of the meat, which significantly affected the overall flavor and texture. It lacked the juiciness and tenderness that a well-cooked burger should have. The undercooked patty was not only unappetizing but also posed a potential...
Read moreVisiting from Upstate NY I had to try Rapid Rays. It's been called a must visit when in the Biddeford-Saco area, Maine's twin cities. You can dine in, but its standing room only as there are no tables. The review is a about the food and the service.
Food was quickly prepared, we tried a cheeseburger, fries, and lobster roll. The burgers made to order were good, and the fries made my way thin with no potato skins lol. Now the lobster roll lol. I am from New York so hot butter rolls are my thing, normally I wouldn't try a cold roll with mayonnaise. I tried it, and loved it. Fresh toasted roll, fresh thick lobster, and it was fantastic.
The service lol, seemed like a good bunch of guys but impatient with my indecisiveness. They joked sarcastically with me but took sympathy on me when they probably realized I was an out of towner. I joked back with them and all was good. This nice spot in the heart of downtown is...
Read moreWhat happened to that hamburger we always loved? We went to Rapid Ray's last night for our usual hamburger treat. We have been going there for over 30 years and, in fact, Ray added mayo to his burger menu because I requested it (being from the South). We have always been satisfied with Ray's burgers and knew that, at one time at least, he ordered his meat and made his own burgers--and they were delicious. They were just soft buns and great tasting hamburger.
Last night (August 15, 2013) however, we went to Ray's and both my husband and I were disappointed for the first time in 30 years. The hamburger meat contained gristle and had no flavor and the tomatoes were thin and slimy. What has happened? Well, whatever it is we hope they go back to the old way because it sure isn't the Ray's we grew...
