Falafel Corner — Restaurant in Sacramento

Came here on a Sunday night because the one on J Street was closed. Amazing falafels - no reason to get anything other than the namesake! We had a falafel platter, gyros platter, and extra side of falafel between three people and had plenty to take home. Gyros were flavorful and had a little crisp. Baklava and nut roll looked yummy but we didn’t have space. One difference for someone who’s environmentally conscious is that the J Street store serves food on reusable plates with metal silverware whereas here platters came on styrofoam, wraps in compostable containers, and sides and bowls in aluminum takeout containers with plastic lids. I tasted the food from almost all the Falafel Corner Franchises around in the Sacramento city but so far this is my Favorite Location at Alhambra Blvd. STAFF is Super Friendly, RESPECTFUL to Customer, Clean COOKING Space, and they Prepared Food in mentioned Time (Sometimes even Earlier). If you are following any DIET PLAN and want to taste Delicious Mediterranean Food without Ruining your Keto or Calorie Deficit Schedule this is Your PLACE to Go. I cook professionally at a fine dining restaurant downtown, so I usually try to give places the benefit of the doubt. But this experience was just careless. Walked in to pick up my online order, one cook on duty, didn’t say a word, just pointed at the bag. No acknowledgment, no hospitality.

Inside: a crumpled napkin tossed in, sloppy knife work, greasy meat, stingy on vegetables and sauce. The portion was small and felt phoned-in. It wasn’t about the price, it was the lack of care. Every detail said “we don’t care.”

Could’ve gone to Chipotle and gotten twice the food with actual consistency and a basic level of service....
