As a regular customer here I came with my daughter and husband to eat and first if I could give zero stars, I would. The way I was treated today by a restaurant that we eat at often is unbelievable. First issue was they ran out of everything we tried to order which okay no biggie. The real problem is when I go to pay I only had 100s that I received from the bank. They were older bills. I was denied payment. Mind you the guy that was checking out before us didnt have money to pay at all. He wasnt homeless, he gave a sob story that he only had cashapp & the lady let him leave. I go to pay and im told my 100 dollar isnt able to be verified so I asked to speak with a manager because its the o ly money I have. I expressed that we are regulars and they knew us. She goes to talk to a girl in the back and comes back to say they can take it but will have to keep the money and I have to come back tomorrow to get my change. My bill was a little over $60 and I said im not doing that, I dont live close and im not going to come back tomorrow for $40 and how ridiculous that sounds. She then proceeded to the back to ask what else can be done but I remembered I did havw another 100 but it was a newer bill. So she paid and waited for the girl that had my bill in the back to bring it. When she came with my bill the cashier told her oh she already paid, then the girl with the glasses handed me my bill back with an attitude n I said its ridiculous that you guys want to keep someone's money & she said my bill was fake and that it doesnt have a watermark face when holding it to the light and the one that passed their test did have a face and I told her the older 100s dont have a face. She proceeded to have an attitude. I cant believe as a regular customer this is how I was treated. I will NEVER eat here again. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I was embarrassed like I'm a lowlife that was trying to pass off fake money then degraded and told by the girl with glasses that "by law she is supposed to keep my 100 to verify its real and give the change the following day" PLEASE train your employees better because my momey was straight from the bank. Passed the pen test. If you don't want to accept old money, put a sign at the entrance because trying to keep money is not a law! And some people dont have time to return for their change. I used to love this place but sadly I won't be returning!!! Make sure you have other forms of payment when eating here or you will be humiliated. Sadly I guess when you have no money to pay your bill, they just let you leave without paying or...
Read moreNenas is an older building with a lot of wear. It is gated in with a budget motel. From the outside it is not going to draw you in. After a long road trip we wanted something just off the highway and the internet showed Nenas to be a convineient stop. The food smelled great from the parking lot. I ordered the steak chicana, my husband ordered a 3 food combo. He was very disapointed in the taco, it had two very large chunks of chicken in a fried tortilla- nothing more. The burrito was very dry and had no seasoning or salsa. My food was amazing. I scooped the sauce from my plate onto his burrito, he added the salsa left from our chips and salsa. By the way, the house salsa was very good, mild and tangy with tomatillos. Overall I think you'll find this place kind of hit and miss. The server was very friendly and attentive enough, but failed to remember to bring lemons for our tea even after being reminded. The bathroom was horrible, dirty, smelly, dingy. The restaurant was just aged. The parking lot was a little scary but honestly the large picture windows and the gated parking lot made it feel safer than it looked from the road. The cost of dinner was fair at $46. Take a chance. Try...
Read moreLet's start with the positive aspects of this place. The price is right. Most of the menu is under $20. There's some really good options on the menu. They serve alcohol too. Everybody is really nice and friendly. It's a beautiful place with a nice ballroom. But the best part of this place is the lady behind the window tossing around flour, slapping up some delicious, fresh, hand made tortillas! But I'm from East LA. I know Mexican food. This isn't authentic Mexican food. They use mozzarella cheese in their Chile Rellenos. It's not an Italian dish. They didn't have Chile Rellenos for my vegetarian guest. They suggested vegetable fajitas which they seasoned with bbq sauce 🤮. The plate I ordered came out as something else completely. They forgot my tortillas. The food was bland. They took 45 minutes to bring out the first plate. The kids had to wait the longest just for a hamburger. It was freezing in there! I was going to give them two stars for effort but those yummy tortillas made my tummy all warm inside. I wish I knew about other restaurants in the area. I'd recommend a better place. If you're ever in LA, try El Compadre near...
