This week's $32 dinner for two special was Fire Roasted Shrimp and Herbed Polenta served with garlic piperade, sweet herbs, and crostini. I love shrimp and polenta, so I knew I had come to OBO' before the end of the week. This place is super busy during dinner time and on the weekend, so we came at around 5:15pm to avoid the rush and wait. It was still pretty empty with plenty of tables/seats. By 6:00 pm, there was line to order and limited tables. They do have a good amount of smaller tables and seats outside.
As expected, the dinner special was delicious! The shrimp was crunchy and not overcooked (Can't stand overcooked shrimp - it taste like mush). Polenta had a good texture and taste. I didn't care for the crostini and rather have a piece of garlic bread or focaccia instead. Not a big deal! We wanted some vegetables so we got the trio salad (beets, burrata & asparagus and salmon fennel). Of course, the meal wouldn't be complete without dessert. Seriously, their desserts and sweets are very good. I haven't had anything that I didn't like. We got the carrot cake to share. OMG, the frosting is devine!
Last but not least, the cocktails are freaking AMAZING! I wanted to go personally praise the bartender for making the best Elderflower Gimlet I ever had! If cocktails are not your thing, they have a great selection of white wine, red wine and draft beer.
Friendly service. They got the system down and works smoothly from ordering to getting the food deliver to your table.

Read moreUsed to love this restaurant and come here all the time. We had a bad experience about two months ago with a meal that wasn’t very good. This was in January 2022, and Obo’ (along with the rest of the country) was struggling to keep employees. Their hours were cut and they were always packed. No biggie, it happens sometimes. Definitely a red flag though, as we like to support businesses who treat their employees well. About a month ago, we got a meal from here that was inedible. We went home, loaded it up with spices and sauce (trying our best to save the meal), to no avail. We called the restaurant to make a complaint. They were very kind and offered us a comp card with more money on it than the price of our meal. They also sent us a hand written apology which was so kind. On Friday, we decided to spend the comp card and get obo again…. What a mistake that was. We were horribly sick all day Saturday and couldn’t sleep through the night. On Sunday we got a diagnosis of food poisoning from the urgent care. It’s now Monday afternoon and we still feel horrible. We’ve barely eaten since. We had to cancel plans with friends and work. By far the worst case of food poisoning I’ve ever had or seen. I don’t know if this problem is because their staff is new, or they just don’t care because it’s a minimum wage job. My partner and I are both really disappointed to finally be saying this, but we will NOT be returning to this restaurant, and will be encouraging our peers not to eat...
Read moreWent here with my wife and son for a late afternoon early dinner. It was busy, but not packed. They run a special before 2pm and after 4:30pm that is currently $23 for a hot entree and 2 sides. We were there at 4pm so we opted for a pizza and 3 pastas. I had the lasagna, my wife had the rigatoni and my son, the pappardelle. My lasagne seemed pretty underwhelming based on the presentation, but the taste was outstanding. It’s well balanced and every bite was delicious. They sell beer and wine and I had a glass of Pinot Noir. For a 8 oz glass, it cost $18. That seemed a little steep. You can also opt for a 5 oz glass. The pizza which was a combination (tomato sauce, mozzarella, salami, pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onion, mushroom, kalamata olives, parmesan) was good, not great. We asked for it to be “well-done” and it was served at best warm, not hot. My wife and son both liked their pasta. They had fresh focaccia and if we return, we’d opt for that over the pizza as it looks tasty. Street parking is available but I wouldn’t say plentiful. One note, the restaurant is “counter order” style. You choose your table and they deliver your food. Overall, very good experience and we’ll...
