If you're a coffee enthusiast or a waffle lover, The Mill in Sacramento is an absolute must-visit! This hidden gem tucked away in the heart of the city stole my heart with its inviting ambiance, exceptional service, and most importantly, their unparalleled waffles.

Upon stepping foot inside The Mill, you're greeted with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee that instantly awakens your senses. The rustic yet modern decor adds a touch of warmth, making it the perfect spot to unwind or catch up with friends.

Now, let's talk about their star attraction - the Chocolate Waffle. Oh boy, where do I even begin? This heavenly creation left me spellbound from the very first bite. The waffle itself boasted a perfect balance of crispiness on the outside and a fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth center that was pure bliss. The rich chocolate flavor danced on my taste buds, leaving me in a state of pure euphoria. It's safe to say that this waffle transcended the boundaries of ordinary breakfast treats - it was a work of art.

What truly sets The Mill apart is their commitment to using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients, which was evident in every delectable bite of the chocolate waffle. The attention to detail and passion put into crafting this masterpiece is commendable and speaks volumes about the dedication of their culinary team.

The presentation was equally delightful, with a drizzle of velvety chocolate sauce cascading over the waffle, accompanied by a generous dollop of freshly whipped cream. The combination of textures and flavors was absolutely divine and had me savoring each mouthful like it was my last.

Pairing the waffle with their expertly brewed coffee was an experience in itself. The baristas at The Mill are true artisans, and their passion for coffee shines through in every cup they prepare. Whether you're a cappuccino lover or prefer a simple drip coffee, they have you covered with their extensive selection of premium coffee beans.

Lastly, a special mention goes to the attentive and friendly staff who made the entire dining experience an absolute pleasure. Their knowledge about the menu and willingness to accommodate personal preferences made me feel right at home.

In conclusion, if you find yourself in Sacramento and seek a taste of waffle heaven, The Mill is the place to be. Their Chocolate Waffle is a true masterpiece that will leave you with lasting memories and cravings that you won't be able to resist. Treat yourself to this delightful indulgence, and I promise you won't be...

The Mill on I is easily one of my main coffee obsessions in Sacramento.

The space is cozy, rustic, and modern—basically an IKEA catalog as a coffee house. Sure, it looks like a place where the baristas might judge your life choices, but plot twist: everyone here is actually super friendly and chill. Like, I’ve been here a hundred times and not once has anyone scowled at how basic I am.

Now let’s talk about the chairs. If you’ve got a bad back (hi, it’s me), prepare for betrayal. The seating feels... intentionally uninviting? Like it was specifically designed to scare off the "I'm just here for the Wi-Fi" crowd. And if you’ve got a group bigger than a Grindr date, finding a seat might feel like a game of musical chairs. But—BUT—on a nice day, the back patio is an absolute dream. Cozy, charming, and a little slice of Midtown magic.

The menu? Minimal, but mighty. It caters to everyone from snobby third-wave coffee nerds to the ā€œjust need caffeine, please save me from Starbucksā€ crowd. They roast their own beans, and you can taste the love. I’m partial to their cappuccino.

But let’s get to the real stars of the show.

First: the dirty chai. The chai blend is homemade, it’s bold, it’s rich, it’s balanced... it’s basically the Michelle Yeoh of drinks—it does everything, everywhere, all at once. And I am here for it, but iced.

Second: the yeasted waffle. Oh. My. Waffle. Life-changing.

Pro tip: swing by The Mill, grab a dirty chai and a waffle, and walk over to the Midtown Farmers Market (where this place got its start, btw). Trust me—you’ll feel like a main character in a rom-com.

Yes, the wait time can be a little on the slow side. Like, just long enough for you to start homescrolling Zillow. But honestly? I’m convinced it’s just the baristas putting a little extra love into every cup.

How I break down my āļø reviews: 1 - No. Not if it was the last thing on DoorDash. šŸ—‘ļø 2 - Meh. Maybe if I’m desperate, close, and high. 😬 3 - Mid. Not texting the group chat about it. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø 4 - Hella solid. Planning my next visit. šŸ˜‹ 5 - Shut up and take my money....

Service is friendly but maybe a bit too friendly. Wait times can be longer then expected based on the line, a bit too much flirting with the customers. Coffee is very good and they seem to run out of the limited bakery items quickly. They have great waffles to make up for it. Now from a teleworker POV the space is casual and nice to work in. But the tables are a bit to high to work your laptop and just WAY too small. Laptop and breakfast? Really tight, forget working with someone else. Most of the tables are really crammed together to the point that you are in other people's spaces. No where near enough power outlets and those are only dual plug. They do have 2+ hour parking around them.

My biggest gripe is the terrible Wifi. They use an Asus N router on the 2.4 band and I'm going to guess it's a consumer. First it's completely open (???) and even when the place is only moderately busy it's overwhelmed. Downloads are not much better then a fast dial up too much of the time (client contention is too much for the AP). Uploads could...
