Tom's Watch Bar — Restaurant in Sacramento

Went there yesterday to celebrate granddaughter’s 24th birthday & watch the 49ers vs. Jets game. Me & GD arrived at 4:30 to get 2 tables. The wait staff was friendly and took our order. About 30 minutes later a hostess came over and said we couldn’t have 2 tables. We told her our family was on their way. Two more family members arrived shortly and ordered food & drinks. Next someone named Kendal (said he was a manager) came over stating we would have to give up our 2nd table because the entire party was not there. (According to their policy). Mind you there were so many other tables with 1-2 empty chairs but he never said anything to them. The patio had available seating and there was no line of people waiting to sit down inside. We nicely told him we were not giving up our table; we ordered food & drinks, not doing anything wrong. He kept coming back every 5 minutes saying we had to give up the other table and we kept refusing. I asked the waiter to send over a “real” manager because Kendal was being very condescending towards us. This other manager was no better. My other GD, 10 years old, started crying saying how unfair they were being. I asked what happened to pleasing the customer & why the hassle… just let us be… but they just ignored me. The rest of our party (4 men) arrived and they never came over and said another word. My son went over and spoke with security and they were very apologetic. We enjoyed the rest of game and food… tried to keep it a happy celebration.

All three of the wait staff that was serving us didn’t understand why we were being hassled. One mentioned that they didn’t have any such policy… it’s a sports bar.

As much as I liked the atmosphere, we will NEVER go there again. We spent over $500 at an establishment that showed us no respect or...

In search of a spot to watch the LV vs. LA WNBA game as a way to decompress after a long Wed work day, my good friend recommended Tom's Watch Bar.

Why not?

We arrived and met the host to whom we requested to be able to get a screen for WNBA basketball. She said she could accommodate my request and situated us, imo, in the best seat in the house. Front and center of the large screen behind the bar. Our assigned server was to be Natalie.

Very quickly she appears and proceeds to give us the rundown of the menu offerings while making us comfortable. As we explained to her that this was our first time actually in the bar but I had an opportunity several weeks prior to encounter an unusually long line of young ladies waiting to get in. It turns out it was a Love Island night.

We had some good laughs and shared some other experiences of current bar events. This set the tone perfectly. My friend was put at ease so I was also at ease too. Since neither of us were familiar with the menu and really didn't want to go the 20-question route, our conversation with Natalie transitioned to inquire about some of her favorite dishes. Spanish Artichoke Dip and Honey Barbecue Wings was suggested. Therefore that what we ordered a long with a beer and some wine.

Our order arrived promptly and the game was underway. That's was winner! Natalie continued to check on us at just the right moments as to not interrupt the flow of the game or the food.

That turned out to be a wonderfully easy midweek night out that Natalie really helped to keep the vibe easy and make the experience appeared to be effortless.

Of course, even for a Wednesday, nothing is effortless.
