This meal cost me almost $30. The food container is about the size of my palm. The “vegetable rolls” were described as “handmade” and with “spices”. As you can see, these are two regular low quality spring rolls that anyone can find at the dollar store. $5.99 for those two low budget spring rolls. The food is bland except for the taste of cilantro and the fact it’s spicy. This place is an absolute joke and a disgrace. They have better Indian food in the frozen food aisle at smiths. Don’t waste your money. I made a video, but I have no clue how to post it. I am LIVID. Edit: first of all, I’m glad you’ve shown your true colors as a business with your unprofessional response. Secondly, I love how you failed to address the NOT homemade, NOT gluten free spring rolls and their RIDICULOUS cost. The pictures speak for themselves. The food is gross. People who want to try it will do so and make up their own minds. I recommend Red Fort if you want AUTHENTIC and DELICIOUS Indian food in this area. Their prices are actually worth the amount of food and the quality. They say you get what you pay for, but if you choose to eat here you’ll get food poisoning like I did and a rude reply from a restaurant that only wants your money. The picture that has the entree is the exact amount of food you get. I spooned one piece of meat and some sauce onto the rice and did not eat any. I had taken a video with my palm for scale but was unable to post it. I completely resent the implication that I’m unable to afford your food. I knew what I was doing ordering from Uber. I was willing to pay the price as long as I was getting the amount of food comparable to the price. This is waaaaay more than 4x the cost of preparing, even with inflation accounted for. The amount of food you provided in my order would feed two 12 year olds. Not a single grown adult. So, kind reader, you tell me: is $15.99 fair for an entree with that amount of meat and sauce? You be the judge. My picture clearly shows the equivalent of 4 chicken nuggets in an entree for $15.99, and you want to shame people for using Uber eats, as if you didn’t put your restaurant on their platform. Disgusting and disgraceful behavior.

This was a horrific experience. We went on mother's Day and to our ultimate demise they were only staffed by one person who spoke no English. We were not able to be seated in the empty restaurant due to it being a holiday/ and or a Sunday all of which is not posted to their website. Then it took almost 30 mins to receive our "take out" order. We seated ourselves at the outside tables of a neighboring bldg. And the food was awful 😞😔 it was definitely microwaved! The nan was rubber, luke warm bland food. In microwave containers. We didn't smell food while inside and we know why....we got leftovers 😡😡 I could not ingest the nasty food and those who did paid dearly and fell I'll. This ruined our mother's day which was already stricken with grief at the process of losing my grandfather. We needed food so bad. I am so disappointed. Never going back would not recommend to my worst enemy! Also cost wayyyy too much!

Definitely NOT authentic Indian food. I am from Mumbai (Bombay) and lived there for 28 years. This restaurant is not even cooking food properly. The rice was too al-dante for Basamati Rice. Like 75% cooked. Roti and Naan were sold as Pita bread. We ordered two Chicken dishes... Chicken curry and chicken coconut curry. Interestingly they were exactly the same. The most important concern.. The quantity of food is too less for a person. If you are an Indian tourist in the area then I DONT recommend this place to you. Save some money and try other places. We went there after reading many positive reviews but it seems Americans like this place ( I think this is the only Indian restaurant choice they have hence no option). I hope this review helps.

Don’t drive by this little gem on Tabernacle Street. Stop in for a tasty meal at Bombay Cafe which has been at this location for three months. You need to discover its goodness. There were four in our party and after ordering our food at the front counter we selected a table in the back of the restaurant. The cafe interior is simple but spotless and cheery enough. I did deduct one star (would have been a half star but couldn't figure out how to do that) since a bit of ambiance and decor would be a nice touch. We did not have to wait long at all for our meals which were served by the owner with pride, explaining how everything in his kitchen is made with fresh ingredients. Freshness matters as was evident in the dishes we selected. A double order of savory garlic naan was plenty for four hungry adults and perfect for dipping into my Tikka Masala (chicken) sauce which had the perfect balance of spices, tomato and cream smothering tender chicken bites. One member of our party ordered Pineapple Chicken. Her sauce was delicious but she did report that the chicken was a bit on the overdone side. Another friend ordered the Curry Chicken and was very satisfied with his meal. The fourth member of our party ordered Tandoori Chicken and raved about it. He commented that this tandoori was far better than the one served at a favorite Indian Restaurant in NJ. That says a lot. All dishes were served with a nicely seasoned basmati rice and all entres were of ample portions, two of us taking home leftovers for the next days' lunch. The menu is very reasonably priced. Great food. Great value. We were all too satiated to sample something off the dessert menu - perhaps next time. Bombay Cafe does not serve alcohol and I did not inquire about byob. Overall, a pleasant and very satisfying dinner experience. We...

They don't operate by the hours on listed on google, although I don't necessarily think that it's the restaurant's fault. That said, it wouldn't be that difficult to update on google.

For Indian food, this place is below average, and absolutely overpriced. Sadly, in this town, we're very limited on Indian food choices. Red Fort is really the only decent place to go - and Red Fort is just an average Indian restaurant, not a great one by any means. But I'd rather go to Red Fort since they cost about the same, the portions aren't as skimpy, and at least the food is good there.

Truly, Bombay Cafe is utterly devoid of all the incredibly unique and legendary flavors that you can only find in Indian food.

UPDATE- Response to owner: The bit you said about your hours is not true. I was there last night. Set up a dinner with a friend for 7:30 pm, since the site said your restaurant closed at 8:30 pm. We showed up at 7:30 and you said "take out only, we close at 8". So, the thing you're responding with is a pretty blatant misrepresentation.

As for "if i don't like the food, why am I visiting", I really don't know what's going on with your logic there. That was my absolute first visit. I wanted to try it... is that something that you don't want people to do for some reason? Visit your restaurant for the first time? Odd. You are accurate with "if you don't like it, you don't need to visit" though. But I guess that's obvious, and as I stated- I wouldn't...
