Is this really a business? Our second time visiting this restaurant. Last time was so so, but this time was the last. We were seated around 7:00 pm and servers walked back and forth, with an occasional glance in our direction. Finally, around 7:15 pm, one of the servers who had glanced our way came to take our order. She was not friendly to begin with and being in the fine dining restaurant business for over 15 years, I told her she should smile more. She grinned and said is there anything else you want me to do different? My partner said being a little quicker would be helpful, to which she replied “this was as quick as I could get to you, I even skipped taking another party’s order even though they were here before you and if we had any other complaints , we could talk to the owner”. She had just taken an order at a nearby table with four people and certainly, they were there before us and we understood that, but the only other party near us had just been seated next to us, long after we had been seated. The owner or manager happened to be at the table behind us and my partner asked, “are you the owner? “ to which she replied “yes”. He told her that our server has an attitude. She said she was aware of the situation and had reassigned our table to another server and that he would take care of us and if he didn’t, to let her know and she dashed off without an apology of any kind. I became upset and decided to leave. I stopped by the kitchen area and told the owner to cancel our order that we were leaving, to which she replied “okay good!”. Okay, good? Are you kidding me? Is that how you treat your customers? I walked out and she approached my partner and said “if you disrespect one of my servers I am not apologizing for that” and stormed back to the kitchen area. What???? If there was any disrespect, it came from the server and the owner.
One of the keys to management is getting both sides of the story. We have no idea what the server told her and she didn’t care about the truth or her customer. How do you treat customers like that and expect to stay...
Read moreI have to start out by saying.. the negative reviews on here are a bit dramatic. I would have fallen near the 3 start mark myself but feel as if this needs some balance. The avid Golden corral goers have brought the restaurant rating down here. If you read anything about high prices then, they are way off! Lol. The most expensive plate was 14$. That actually had me a bit worried and instantly made me regret reading reviews from people that must spend their time dining at their local China buffet. Now I will agree on some of the food being a little bland. My wife ordered the roast beef sandwich and I ordered the classic lasagna for a proper review. I continually asked the server if everything was made fresh, she said yes. I have always wanted to try a fresh Italian restaurant, true to their fundamentals. The menu prices had me scared here but the lasagna appeared to be fresh. As an Italian staple, I expected this. I can not confirm pasta made fresh due to my inexperience. The roast beef was not roasted or made fresh and was bland. The lasagna was fantastic. The appetizers, artichoke spinach dip was good, although served with tortilla chips was extremely disappointing. Being Italian, I thought we would have a baguette served with vinegar, oil and roasted garlic. Super drop the ball on a decent dish. We were not served bread until asked at the end we got toasted French bread, oil and vinegar. Again not a great bread. House but wish it was served earlier. The empanadas were really good!. Fairely true to Spain. The sauces were lackluster. I will stand by the 4 star, due to the fact that the negative reviews were disrespectful and the lasagna was everything I could hope for in a cheap fresh dish. My true opinion is 3 star. Low priced decent Italian food. I can't guarantee that it is fresh and they have made great waste to their...
Read moreI walked into this restaurant very excited for Italian food. This was my first time eating here at this restaurant. I was greeted by the hostess very politely. I was taken to a 1 seat table in the corner which I didn’t mind because I was alone. After I sat down I was approached by a man that told me if wanted to sit here and I told him I didn’t care because I’m alone. He then responded to me that I “BELONG IN THE CORNER” then proceeded to laugh at me loudly making a scene in the entire restaurant. I felt embarrassed and in disbelief of his words he said to me. I then told him that i don’t belong in the corner I belong everywhere. I told him why do you think I need to be in the corner and he said it was a joke. I’ve never heard of this joke nor have I ever experienced this from anyone in my life while eating at a restaurant. I then asked him if I can get a new waiter and he ignored my request. He then asked me if he thought I was being racist. Which I think was him and his guilty conscience responding when he ignored my request for anther waiter or waitress. I didn’t respond to his question. Then I asked him if I could speak to his manager. Then he asked me again if I thought he was being racist. He then left and got his manager after I kept asking him for someone else. The lady that was the manger was very understanding and helpful, she said that behavior was not okay and those words shouldn’t have been told to me. She found a lady waitress that was very nice and loving. She even patted my should and comforted me when I told her how I was treated. I hope and pray that waiter doesn’t say or tell anyone ever again that they belong in a corner. I’ve never been told that in my life. someone that Is single going in for a meal solo again should feel more welcome by him. The food was very good actually. Great service from the...
