After a show at Jannus my girlfriend and I were walking around downtown looking for a place to eat. Not as many options as we thought although it was a rainy Sunday evening. I am not usually big on theme restaurants, but we decided to go to Ford's Garage. As expected, it's very garage-y in theme, with mechanic servers and such. We felt very welcome and sat at the bar. We had a great server/bartender, I forget her name but she had dark hair. On point and attentive. We got the french onion soup and fried pickles to start. The soup was good. They cut the pickles way too big but the crust and wasabi sauce were nice. We both got burgers and found them to be quite excellent. When we were finished I used the bathroom is this is where my visit went sideways. I go to wash my hands and instead of a sink there is a massive tire. Wow, taking this garage thing pretty far. I put soap in my hands. Now I need water. I see the faucet is a crafted gas pump. Geez, we get it garage restaurant. I wave my hands around thinking it might be a wave-hand-trigger thingy. No water. I see no handle next to the gas-pump-faucet. I have the beginnings of a mini panic attack. Could there be no water? I see a handle to the right- that must be it! It looks like a valve. Rejoicing, I quickly turn the valve, but i guess I let my finger hang to much, because it gets pinched in the handle as I open it. Recoiling in pain, the water comes out all funky as I start to bleed. I have broken the skin on this damn valve. I immediately get angry, first at myself. I must be 'special'. Am I the only one to ever do this? After this subsides, I get annoyed with Ford's Garage. Did you have to take the theme this far? Can't we just have normal sinks? I look at my injury and think 'This should not be a possibility of using a sink'. I debate going to talk to someone, but my shame outweighs my need to inform the on-duty manager. You know, I get it. It's a garage restaurant. But it's too far guys. Can't we just have normal sinks? Overall I will return, but I will never use that devil tire gas pump death valve sink again. I'll bring moist toilettes...
Read moreFrom the moment I walked into Ford's Garage, I knew it was going to be a great experience. The decor is fantastic, with vintage Ford memorabilia everywhere you look. It really sets the tone for a fun, upbeat atmosphere that's perfect for a night out with friends or family.
The service was top-notch, with our server going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. They were friendly, attentive, and always had a smile on their face. I really appreciated how knowledgeable they were about the menu and the different beers on tap. They were able to make great recommendations for both food and drink, which made our experience even better.
Now let's talk about the food. Oh my goodness, it was amazing! I ordered the Classic Ford's Burger, which was cooked to perfection and came with all the fixings. The fries were crispy and flavorful, and the onion rings were some of the best I've ever had. My friends also raved about their meals, including the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Ford's Signature Wings. We were all so impressed with the quality of the food and the portion sizes.
One thing that really stood out to me about Ford's Garage was the attention to detail. From the presentation of the food to the little touches like the branded ketchup bottles and vintage oil cans on the tables, everything was thoughtfully designed to enhance the overall experience. It's clear that a lot of care goes into making sure every aspect of the restaurant is perfect.
