Dear dDon Joaquin street tacos,
I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received during my recent visit to your establishment on [date]. I had hoped for a pleasant dining experience, but unfortunately, I left feeling dissatisfied and frustrated with the level of service provided.
Upon entering the restaurant, I approached the cook to place my order, but was met with indifference as they simply glanced at me and walked away. After a few moments, a cashier eventually came to the register without acknowledging me. When I requested a bowl to go with steak, my order was taken without any inquiry or engagement. The transaction was completed swiftly, and I was not given any courtesy or gratitude for my patronage.
Regrettably, upon arriving home and inspecting my order, I discovered that the tortillas were burnt, significantly detracting from the quality of the meal. While the food itself was satisfactory, the overall service experience left much to be desired. The lack of attention to customer care and basic courtesies was evident throughout my entire interaction with your staff.
As a customer who values quality service and respect, I must convey my disappointment with the substandard service standards exhibited during my visit. The negligence and lack of professionalism displayed by your team have left me with a negative impression of your establishment. Rest assured, I will not be returning to dine at your restaurant in the future, nor will I be recommending it to friends or family.
I trust that this feedback will be taken seriously, and that steps will be taken to improve the overall service quality and customer experience at your restaurant. I appreciate your attention to this matter and hope that my feedback will contribute to enhancing the standards of service at your...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed by this restaurant. My family of 4 stopped in for a bite after a long day of travel. It was located next to our hotel so convenience made our decision easy. The menu is alright, not an overabundance of selections. I was immediately taken aback that chips and salsa are not a menu item. I ordered a side of Pico and asked about chips. The gal at the counter pointed to a shelf of bags of chilaquiles for purchase. Like grocery store-sized bags. I figured maybe that's just the way this restaurant rolls and went with it. My husband ordered the loaded asada fries and they were mediocre. He literally said "I would have rather had a gas station burrito." Oh, and if you want water you'll have to buy bottled. There is none on tap.
One thing that really rubbed me the wrong way was that the girl taking my order hardly looked up from her phone to do so. Multiple times. And never a "thank you" or "have a nice day" at the end of our meal. That earned the one star for customer service.
The bathroom is not located in the restaurant proper. You are told to go through a large sliding barn door to an adjacent building that looks to be remnants of an old Italian restaurant. That seemed odd to me.
I'm also fairly certain the employees bring their children to work with them. I am not one to judge as I've done this many times, myself, however this was an infant in a car seat alone in the dining area. Only once we were caught glancing at it multiple times was the baby moved to the back of the restaurant. On a second occasion, while walking by, I overheard an employee telling a young girl (who I assumed was her daughter) "we are free!" As though she'd just finished a shift.
Safe to say this location has ruined me from returning to any Don Joaquin Street...
Read moreY'all are shockingly rude. I saw a decent looking menu and reviews, and this spot is in my hotel's building. Thought I had found a convenient gem for when I needed quick meals on the go during my extended stay here. You proved me very wrong.
I started my order by stating "This will all be to go," then ordered a burrito and a quesadilla, each with a side of sour cream, and a fountain soda. No ice in the machine while trying to fill soda, so I wait at the counter to ask for some. I'm asked what I need, not realizing he hadn't completed taking the order after mine, so I answered the question. I got a rushed "wait a minute, wait a minute" response as if I was being pushy or an inconvenience. Then my order comes up for dine-in and the cook sighed at me loudly when I told her it was to go, like this is all my fault. Somehow they're both upset at me for problems created by them. After the counter person finishes taking orders he bags my order and tosses it at me with a grunt and walks away, wouldn't even look at me. I was saying 'please' and 'thank you' the whole time, I was unbothered by what were at the time simple things that just needed a fix; why are these people so angry?! Cherry on top was the two sides of sour cream I paid for that he didn't bother to bag up. It wasn't worth the fight it would clearly be to get corrected so I'll just eat that cost and stay far away from this place for the rest of my trip and future...
