Best Neapolitan cheese pizza I’ve had in Utah!
The flavor profile is the closest thing to a NYC pizza in the state. It has the benefits of both a Neopolitan and NYC slice: Fluffy crust and flavorful dough with a nice chew and a flavorful sauce/cheese combo. Nice leoparding on the bottom and charred bits add a great flavor dimension and texture to the pizza.
Second visit I had their incredible Serrano Honey pizza. It was fantastic! They are generous with the honey which adds a very nice sweetness and depth to the other flavors. It’s a classic sweet, spicy, salty, rich pizza. I added olives and grated parm to mine, but would have been just as good without them. I think their olives are Castelvetrano olives, which are nice and buttery with a bit of brightness.
Third visit I had their Sopressa pizza. It was great! Thinly sliced sopressa, confit garlic, ricotta cheese in addition to the mozzarella. The confit preparation of garlic results in a very mellow garlic flavor. This is opposed to a roasted garlic which can be very pungent and overwhelming, so I wouldn’t let the garlic dissuade you from trying this one out.
Can’t wait to try...
Read moreFirst time at Woodbine. We strolled through the food places, and asked about gluten free crust. They said they have it and that it's not guaranteed as a mixed kitchen, so I was excited and we decided to get a drink first. Turns out you can order food from the bar through an app. Bonus! The gluten free crust is an extra $4. The pizza was great, the pepperoni was delightfully crisped. The crust was a little soft - which is not typical of GF crust, but I assumed that's because it's cauliflower instead of the usual. I woke up at 2 a.m. sick as a dog. Sick for all of Mother's Day. it was awful. I'm intolerant, not celiac, so I've never had issues with a bit of cross contamination. First time I've been sick like that since the elimination testing doctors had me do to diagnose. So while the pizza was great, I think they gave us a regular crust in spite of the $4 and verified order. I wouldn't recommend for anyone who has dietary...
Read moreOverall, Mozz Artisan's pizza is quite delicious, but has some minor flaws that prevent me from giving it 5 stars.
The Margherita pizza I ordered came out hot, oily, and fresh from the oven. Their crust has the perfect texture and composition, and best of all, the pizza had appropriate ratios of FRESH basil and mozzarella cheese! The cheese dominates the overall flavor profile.
However, Mozz missed the mark with their pizza sauce. It tasted like it had been watered down! If they had let it simmer for longer, and put some more garlic, oregano, and basil in it, then it would be a good sauce. Additionally, the outer crust was just a TAD bit burnt.
Minor flaws included in the overall package, they make a solid pizza. I enjoyed it enough to not regret buying it (about $15-16 including tip), but I can't see myself coming...
