The Bar at Asher Adams — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

I first knew this building back in 2014–2015, when it wasn’t being used and sadly had become a place for homeless people to sleep, with public toilets and a strong smell of pee. I always thought it was such a waste for such a beautiful historic building.

Now in 2025, I came back to Utah and was absolutely blown away by the transformation! They’ve beautifully restored it and turned it into a luxury hotel with an amazing bar. They kept the original character of the building while giving it new life, such a perfect use of space.

I went to the bar right away, the service was excellent, and the food was great. The location is also ideal: right by downtown Salt Lake and all the main attractions, and only about a 15-minute ride from the airport on the clean, affordable UTA TRAX.

I have been really excited to see what they've done with this venue. We walked in and the 1st thing we see is the same old hideous mural of the Mormon cult claiming stake to this city. It's completely icky and hypocritical to have this mural in a bar!!! History or not, the church is a cult and needs to be removed from any and all adults things in this state.
