How the mighty have fallen.

I had to sleep first before writing this review because I would have been too upset and likely used many swear words to try and tell the story of how one of my favorite wing places has now become a place I will never visit again.

TLDR: Used to frequent all of their locations regularly, one of them once a week.

Last night, everything I knew about Trolley came crashing down. I should have taken a look at the last few months of Yelp and Google reviews and I would have probably noped out prior to heading there.

We had a concert to attend in Downtown for 8PM. We figured, get to Trolley by around 6:15 on a Sunday, when its less busy (it WAS less busy, there were maybe 15 people and the majority were at the bar and were getting ready to leave. We get sat, wait 10 minutes to even get acknowledged, and then one moment of interaction with our server - she says "One sec, I'll get you some waters" without actually giving me time to let her know we were fully ready to order. She comes back quickly with the water, thankfully, and then asks if we want drinks. We clearly just want to eat, and say we're ready to order all of our food now. That should have been a hint that we're trying to be done and out of there pretty quickly. We order a half basket of fries, and our wings. Nothing special or out of the ordinary.

10 minutes later, we get an underdone basket of fries, but I'm just hungry and happy that we have food. Some of them are really soggy and taste weird. The few bits that do taste fine seem like they are the bottom of the barrel overcooked portion that was mixed in. We get through about half of it. and so we wait around looking around to see if we are ever going to get our food because now its about 40 minutes. Finally get the attention of our server, and she goes back and checks to see when we're getting our food. We tell her that were in a hurry because we are going downtown for a concert and have to be in our seats by at least 7:45, so that means we'd have to leave by 7:20 and it's already 7pm now.

The server's name, Megan or Maggie (I think?) comes back to tell us that they're slammed (really? There's barely anyone here in the restaurant by this time) - No, they have a BUNCH of to go orders and they need to make those first, which tells me that they haven't even started thinking about making our food. She says they can make the food to go, but we tell her we are going somewhere immediately after this, will not be able to eat wings in the car on the way, and will not be able to carry wings inside to eat them at the Eccles.

We cancel the order, she starts getting a little snippy by this time. She comes back and gives us the check for the fries. My husband asks her to comp us the fries since they were terrible to begin with, and it was for them wasting our time. I make sure she knows that this isn't her fault - it is the KITCHEN's fault and the management's fault for prioritizing TO GO orders before people that are actually there in the establishment eating their food.

She then gets extremely snippy and says "well fine, you can REFUSE to pay" - We say, no, we're not refusing to pay (at this point we want her to comp us so we can still get a receipt and actually give her some kind of tip) but then she says "fine, you're refusing to pay, go ahead and leave."

Well then. I suppose that's what we will do. So we left, hungry, let down, and pretty livid. I HATE giving negative reviews and usually will do everything to err on the side of the business and especially the servers who usually are working their butts off to make a terrible wage, but if you're choosing to work here at this point and then get snippy and rude, that's your bad for working for an organization that prioritizes to go orders in front of patrons.

I don't know where your awesome restaurant went wrong. I don't know what's going on or if you're under new management, but you have lost a fan for life.
