following up on the owner's near psychotic response. Threatened to CALL THE COPS on me if I ever came back because of my bad review and because I didn't "Patronize" her Cafe. Stopped by for a little bit because it was advertised as a hang out spot (and many were playing games and lounging). To scope out a date for my at the time HOMELESS girlfriend who was confronting her abusive family at the majestic after getting kicked out for being with me.
I have CFS and am immunocompromised (planning to ay for disability), so I sat in the AC for like 15 mins to recover from the 100 degrees heat and sipped water, changed seats ONCE to sit on some couches, them was promptly asked to leave without warning.
I write a review saying I loved the place but didn't like getting kicked out like that. Then get an unhinged response saying that I came in wearing a "disturbing" mask (white covid washable mask with vents. Again, immunocompromised) was reported by some Karen's for "staring" and "dozing off" on the couches (yeah, the horny middle aged couple who were sitting ACROSS from me as I just tried to avert my eyes. Also, a dude with chronic fatigue syndrom closing my eyes in a place where people spend the day is a crime now?)
not to mention "talking to myself" (reacting to things like "Wow, this is cool" "My girl would love this")
--- but BEST of all, the owner just dropped ALL pretense and revealed that the reason for my LIFETIME BAN was that I didn't "patronize" (buy something immedietly) from her lounge-- (NOTE: no signs ANYWHERE on or in the building that a purchase was nessisary, nor on the website.) ---she said this both IN the review AND to my face when I asked why she was asking me to leave -- and also for "scoping out the place" when I had left (So... LOOKING at the outdoor patio from a distance when planning a DATE for later that day was a crime?? I never even came back)
-- Needless to say, the ego on this poor woman is off the freakin' charts. Never been kicked out of a place for simply EXISTING and never been THREATENED like that for leaving a respectful but negative review. GROSSLY mistreated for my health issues and I can't wait for her to call me a lier in the response to this extremely -...
Read moreI’d be willing to give this place another shot. The views and decor were exceptional like everyone says, and I loved “dog watching” (way better than people watching!) I just had a disappointing experience because their great menu was out of stock of most items. (Visited at 1pm on a Saturday). You walk in and see all these signs, get excited, and then they’re out of everything.
Edit for clarification: They were out of NORMAL items on the chalkboard (i.e nutella poptart) not their new spring launch. Disappointing either way when you read something on a sign and they're out of stock :(
Maybe take them down/put up another advisory sign if you’re out of stuff? Even the barista saw us looking- could’ve said “hey we’ve only got these items in the glass case you see”. So that was kind of a let down. It’s a small place, you might end up cozy next to another group in the corner white tables. They’ve got 2 bathrooms, not gender specific, and one of them the toilet was backed up pretty bad. I did mention something to a barista- but the smell was pretty bad. The latte was alright, i loved the artwork. It's a photoworthy spot but if you start to look a little closely at the floor you'll see dried spilled food and crumbs everywhere. It's just that no one is looking down because the decor is so nice.
Please don't take my review personally- this was a one time experience and I'm just being honest about what I observed. They're definitely worth a try especially if you have a pup that gets along ok with having other...
