Menger Bar — Restaurant in San Antonio

We had a table of ten here and ordered our own drinks. Bused our own tables. Cleaned up after other customers. After we closed up and paid out some lady came and told us that our one year old cannot stand where she was standing and need to sit at our table. She was standing at my chair with me sitting in it. My daughter was not loud, she was not running around, she was very calm and just standing next to me, in my reach. In front of her mother.

It’s absolutely mind boggling that staff would be so rude to customers. When my family walked out the door the lady came running behind us to apologize saying she didn’t mean to run us off. Well, you did run us off and I doubt we ever come back to your family UNFRIENDLY establishment. Just the fact that this lady had to follow us to apologize to make herself feel better about her rudeness says everything. Must have felt guilty for a reason. We will take our money elsewhere. Don’t need you Menger hotel bar. Your cocktails aren’t even good anyways.

They also charge for import prices on Stella Artois even though it’s brewed in the USA. Not really an import when it’s made here.

Saturday January 7th I came in, waited to be serviced by the female bartender, she was mid conversation, so I waited. I asked her one question and then ordered my mule, she continued her conversation with the group of men at the bar and ignored me just as much as she ignored the 3 women at the other end of the bar, I start a tab as we were waiting for friends to join, I went upstairs with my spouse and he got a notification that our bank account had a charge for $18 and we got a deep eddy mule and a plastic cup of water… make this make sense please… the manager came out looking unenthusiastic to see people, like he hates his life and when I go upstairs she continues to smooze on the two men for conversation/tip. Absolutely ROTTEN male bartender on Saturday early afternoon, August 26, 2023. He was instantly offending me, a very long term regular customer of 15+ years. He threatened me several times when I am the most polite person anyone could know. He destroyed my entire day, so I had to go straight home, as I am a Veteran with PTSD.
