Read moreStopped in for lunch around 150pm they closed at 230pm after a afternoon of walking and site seeing in San Antonio, our first time there. It was hotttt, the restaurant was cool, quiet, nice atmosphere, we were greeted nicely and being seated quickly.
Our server was prompt and nice! We ordered the Rueben with Pastrami & Corn Beef (choice is either or we got both) with sauerkraut on the side with fries to split. The food came out quickly, the sandwich was a good portion to split, meat was flavorful and delicious, with nice slices the sauerkraut was the best I've ever had, a small bowl, hot with a little sweetness and tang, you have to try it! If not sure get it on the side, my wife usually won't eat it but she loved it! I've been to many delicatessen in many states and for us this was the best I've ever tasted! Our experience was excellent, their other wait staff would stop by in passing to make sure we were OK and needed anything.
We finished with a slice of cheesecake to go the options were plain, strawberries or cherries we chose strawberries upon getting to the hotel we were surprised to see they were fresh strawberries both cheesecake & fruit were a nice size portion, it was delicious! Upon leaving we were thanked for coming in and asked to please come dine again with a hoped to see you soon! We loved this place, it was a short 7min walk from our hotel on the riverwalk (Embassy Suites riverwalk). I will definitely go back before leaving. If your ever in the riverwalk area put this on your list and definitely stop in you won't be disappointed!!!!! (I'll get our servers name from the receipt to add, to...
Read moreOn January 11, 2020 my sister-friend and I went to Schilo's, expecting to eat some amazing German food. What a huge disappointment this turned out to be. I ordered Potato Soup, Steamed Spinach, Home fries, and Hanchen Schnitzel. What i received was soup that tastes like left over canned soup, spinach that tastes as if it was microwaved straight from the freezer, old set to the side french fries, and a leathery, unseasoned piece of chicken, dipped in some sort of batter, and over fried, causing it to curl into itself. Our server asked if we were happy with our food, but walked away before an answer was given. When she did return, i asked to speak to the manager, after telling her the food was terrible. When speaking to the manager, he "explained" that the menu was being redone and that previously the food had been frozen. I pointed out that the menu stated home fries, but what i received were bottom of the barrel fries. He asked twice if we wanted to try something different from the menu, twice getting the same answer - the food is terrible. Why would we want more terrible food?. At this point he offered to remove the food charges from our bill. I did offer to pay for the root beer, since I had no issue with the drink. He started he would remove all charges, including the drink. This was the worst food experience, and the most disappointing meal ever. Upon leaving this place we went to the 3009 HEB Restaurant. The food and the service were...
