Baja Ricks Cantina is a vibrant, coastal-inspired eatery that brings the flavors of Baja California to the heart of San Diego. Located in the bustling Seaport Village, this restaurant offers a lively atmosphere, stunning waterfront views, and a menu that celebrates the fresh, bold flavors of Mexican cuisine with a modern twist.

Food & Drinks: The menu at Baja Ricks Cantina is a seafood lover’s dream. Their Baja-style fish tacos are a standout—crispy, perfectly battered fish topped with tangy slaw and creamy sauce, all wrapped in a warm tortilla. The ceviche is another must-try, featuring fresh, zesty flavors that are incredibly refreshing. For those who prefer land over sea, the carne asada tacos and grilled shrimp skewers are equally delicious. The drink menu is just as impressive, with a wide selection of margaritas, craft cocktails, and local beers. The “Rex Rita” is a fan favorite, blending premium tequila with fresh lime and a hint of spice.

Service: The staff at Baja Ricks Cantina are friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food and drinks they serve. They’re happy to make recommendations or customize dishes to suit your preferences. The service is prompt, even during peak hours, which is impressive given the restaurant’s popularity.

Ambiance: The ambiance at Ricks Rex Cantina is lively and fun, with a coastal-meets-urban vibe that perfectly complements its waterfront location. The indoor space is bright and airy, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light and offer stunning views of the harbor. The outdoor patio is the real star, though, providing the perfect spot to enjoy a meal or drinks while watching boats sail by. The decor is playful and colorful, with nautical touches that add to the overall charm.

Overall: Baja Ricks Cantina is a fantastic addition to San Diego’s dining scene, offering a perfect blend of delicious food, creative drinks, and a lively atmosphere. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, it’s a must-visit spot for anyone looking to enjoy the flavors of Baja California in a beautiful setting. I’ll definitely be returning to try more of their menu and soak in the...

Baja Rick’s Cantina is one of those hidden gems that’s incredibly convenient, especially if you’re heading to a Padres game or downtown San Diego. It’s located right next to the trolley station, which makes it super easy to stop by for food or drinks before or after an event. The location alone is hard to beat. you can park once, grab a bite, and then walk right over to Petco Park or hop on the trolley.

The staff here is fantastic. friendly, welcoming, and they really go out of their way to make you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first visit. Service is quick and attentive, which is perfect when you’re on your way to a game or a night out.

The food and drinks are solid, with fair prices that make it a great value, especially considering its prime location. It’s a spot where you can enjoy good portions without breaking the bank, and the atmosphere has a laid-back, local vibe that makes it a fun place to hang out with friends or family.

One thing I really appreciated was the remodeled bathrooms. they are clean, modern, and well maintained, which is a big plus for a busy spot like this. It shows they take pride in keeping the whole place in top shape.

Whether you’re grabbing a quick drink before the Padres game, meeting friends for happy hour, or just looking for a casual spot with good food and great service, Baja Rick’s is a fantastic choice. Between the convenient location, friendly team, and comfortable, clean environment, this place has become one of my go-to stops downtown. Highly recommend...

The only reason why I didn't give it five stars is because of the price. Almost $20 for a burrito. It was a decent size. I ate half of it and took the rest with me to go to eat at the game later.I got the California burrito which I never ordered California burritos but it was either that or shrimp or fish. It was delicious! I'm very picky about the quality of meat and it was very lean no fat or gristle whatsoever. 👍 I thought the flavor was good just a hint of heat. It was our first time there. We also enjoyed a guy playing the guitar. It's very conveniently located when you take the trolley downtown Right next to the ballpark. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was some kind of little girls dance competition or something So it was completely packed We had to stand in order to eat our food but it was a beautiful day so we didn't mind. As I went to use a restroom I noticed a cool little bar in the back. Next time we'll try out the bar and see how...

Order at the counter and seating is self serve. Good: The location is great. Easy to get to from the convention center. Burgers good. Tacos ok. Love the sink for hand washing that is in the dining room. It makes it easy to wash hands before eating and after eating. Bad: The dark rum was not blended with the rest of the drink. The dark rum was simply poured on top of the blended portion, and this made it hard to stir the rum into the drink, especially the way the drink was placed in the cup. The pina colada was put in a squishy plastic cup. Grabbing the cup pushed the drink and dark rum sitting on the top of the blended portion run over the top. My hands kept getting wet and sticky form this so good thing the hand washing sink was easy to get to. The nachos were pretty gross, plain, and devoid of seasoning. My companion took the meat from my tacos and put it on the nachos to make it taste better.
