I visited Lucky's Lunch Counter during lunchtime, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The venue had a laid-back, bar-style atmosphere, which was perfect for a casual lunch.
The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the bagel I ordered. It was simply fantastic – fresh, flavorful, and generously filled. The quality of the bagel definitely stood out and left a lasting impression.
On the downside, the coffee served at Lucky's Lunch Counter was a bit of a letdown. It came from a flask, which likely affected its taste and temperature. As a coffee enthusiast, I was disappointed with this aspect of the meal. Improving the coffee service could enhance the overall dining experience for many customers.
Another area that could use some attention is the service. While the staff was friendly, I found that the service could be more attentive and efficient.
if you're looking for an amazing bagel, Lucky's Lunch Counter is definitely worth a visit. The bar-style setting adds to the casual charm, and the bagel alone is a reason to return. However, keep in mind that the coffee may not meet your expectations, and the service could use some refinement. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my time there and would recommend it to bagel lovers looking for a...
Read moreWe drove downtown to go to a 1pm Padres game at Petco Park and we were about an hour early. I didn't really want to go inside the park to pay 400% markups on beer and hot dogs and there are plenty of restaurants in downtown so we went to one of the closest ones: Lucky's.
It was amazing to me there were a couple of empty tables outside, completely shaded. We grabbed one and went to the counter to order. There is no server or host. You order at the counter and they'll give you a number for your table when the food comes.
We ordered a couple of beers (two Salty Crew Blonde Ales - which were great), the big 1/2lb cheeseburger ($16.75), a french dip (also $16.75) and a Coke ($5). Total was $54 before tax/tip. $54 won't go very far in the ballpark, so coming here was a great idea.
The burger was massive (1/2lb!) and the french dip included the au jus. Both were very good. Fries were tasty too. They even brought the food out to us in to-go containers, which was very handy!
Overall this place gets a thumbs up and we may stop in here again for...
Read moreCute concept and decent sized portions at Lucky’s in East Village. There is no table service unless you count the dropping off of food you order up front prior to sitting down. I was excited to try the Jalapeño Patty Melt because I love jalapeños and I’m somewhat of a Patty Melt connoisseur. I was left disappointed by the sheer lack of jalapeños on the burger. I wish I would have taken pictures with the bread off to show how few peppers there were. There was one piece on one half and three small strips on the other. Plenty of onions though. The burger was decent sized and cooked well with a nice healthy serving of fries. My partner got the Griddle Combo and said it was decent. The pancakes were large and served with butter. The scrambled eggs were pretty basic but hot sauce helped. Sodas were four dollars which is just highway robbery and upped our bill unnecessarily. Unless your super thirsty I’d say just get some water to save yourself ten bucks. Bottom line is decent food at a no frills diner but don’t expect to...
