We went to San Diego and her. This was a nice place, so we decided to stop for dinner. Most of the seating is upstairs. There's no booth that's all tables and chairs which is fine but not ideal when you have small children. One of our children was sleeping so we had to hold. Who are the whole time usually with a booth we can lie her down. The tables were close together. Therefore, it was a bit on the loud side. A little too loud for me to be honest. They gave us chips with salsa in Cheesy queso dip. I didn't care for the salsa too much. It had an unusual taste for different. The chips were also a bit different. I don't know if it was the oil or type of tortilla. They used and almost tasted like a Multi grain chip. They weren't bad. They were just different. I did like the queso. The waiter made us feel rushed like he was in a hurry. He came back a few times but just felt like he didn't have time to wait for us And was in a hurry. We ordered food we got bacon wrapped shrimp enchiladas. Bean and cheese burritos for the kids. The food was very good, no complaints there. The enchiladas had a very tasty sauce with them. I enjoyed them a lot. The bacon wrapped shrimp was great. Can't go wrong with that the kids love their food. I did feel like the restaurant was more focused on adults. There was a page in a 1/2 or 2 pages on the menu of drinks. There was a bar inside.I'm not sure I would come back here with small children. The price is where a little on the higher side. I don't know if that's to be expected with the area or not most. Items were seventeen plus a lot of items were over twenty the bacon Shrimp was 26. Overall, I was pretty satisfied. The food was very good. The chips and salsa could be better. Create for adults just okay for kids Although they did have a kid's menu and cranes for coloring in the beginning, it was...

I've been coming here for YEARS. I know when I come here it's not necessarily going to be great, but the chips and cheese are good and free so I keep coming back for that! Haha

This Saturday we had a reservation for 1pm for 5. We got there early and myself and my bf were sat by 12:55. There were two empty tables, and we were sat in the smaller table meant only for 4 people, where the table next to us was clearly meant for 5-6, but we didn't say anything. We got our chips so we started eating them. Then 5 minutes later a table of 3 sat at the bigger table... weird that we had a reservation for a larger party and got a smaller table, but okay no worries. We see the waitress go up to the table of 3 and clearly they are friends. She takes their drink order, then comes up to us and tells us she will be back. We are 10 minutes in, and I just needed some water... another 5 minutes got by, and the other table has already gotten drinks and their kid got food. Again, I just needed water. She finally came over and I told her how badly we needed some water. 5 minutes later - nothing. At this point I'm frustrated. We have been sitting for 20 minutes and haven't gotten a simple water. I get up and speak to the manager and let her know. The manager was SO polite, and ended up being the one helping us the rest of our meal. The manager was beyond amazing, but the waitress (who only had 2 other tables on a very non-busy day) continued to give me nasty looks the rest of our lunch.

Ultimately, while the manager was beyond wonderful, that one waitress ruined our full experience. We won't be back and I highly suggest going somewhere else, otherwise you'll come here and get a waitress with an attitude who doesn't do her job, and food that's just OKAY while...

This was our last opportunity for lunch in San Diego and we hadn't really had Mexican food yet. Miguel's was a close walk from our hotel and we had been hiking all week. I wanted Mexican food and a margarita. We arrived shortly after 2:00 pm on a weekday.

I noticed Happy Hour didn't start until 3:00 pm. We would be there long enough to enjoy that but we wanted to sit outside. Happy Hour is only available at the bar or in the lounge area, not outside. Don't know why but this would be a nice change for them to make. I looked at the Happy Hour menu and we chose to sit outside.

My go to is a strawberry margarita, but they have a Coco Pina Margarita on the menu. I love coconut so I gave it a try. I ordered it on the rocks. I would definitely order it again, but this time frozen. The shaved coconut they put on top gets frozen to the ice in the on the rocks version. My second margarita was strawberry for comparison purposes only. Also ordered it on the rocks but it seemed like it was a frozen margarita on the rocks. Also, every sip reminded me of Sucrets. Not a fan.

As for food, they have a Taco of the Month which this month was shrimp relleno tacos, which was what I ordered. They also have chargrilled octopus tacos which is what my wife ordered. Both were very good. We were going to stop there but we were presented with dessert, and they have fried ice cream, one of our favorites. Miguel's version is coated in corn flakes. It's not as good as fried ice cream coated in coconut, but none was wasted.

Our experience would have been 5-star across the board if it wasn't for the Happy Hour constraint and the taste and consistency of the strawberry margarita. We would...

Staying local to this restaurant, I did a Google search of eateries close by, saw the reviews and thought we'd give it a try. The reviews aren't wrong. We were quickly greeted and seated in the upstairs outdoor area, brought menus, glasses of water and a complementary bowl of tortilla chips, salsa and the cheese sauce, all of which were gorgeous. We were automatically brought out another bowl of chips and sauces, again complementary when we'd nearly eaten them all. We ordered the chicken fajitas x2 and the chimichanga burrito x2. All four meals arrived quickly and the fajitas served on a sizzling skillet which was an impressive sight when being served with the sizzling sound and steam which filled the air with gorgeous aromas. The meals were huge. So huge that three of us had to have to-go boxes so that's lunch sorted for tomorrow! Not wasting it as it was really nice. The chicken wasn't dry, had loads of flavour and there was mountains of it. For drinks, three of us had the mocktail that had pineapple and coconut syrup. I want to say it was called a Carmen Miranda but can't be sure. Regardless, it was heaven in a glass and good value at $6. Service was friendly, helpful and quick and I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again if in San Diego again. The total bill came to $103 for four of us eating just a main with drinks. If I could get the cheese sauce back to the UK, I'd buy it by the gallon.

You can fulfill your Mexican food craving at Miguel's without being overstuffed with lard belly. Our party ordered two combo plates. Enchiladas suizas with rice and beans. The other combo was two chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. Of course these were complimented with coconut margaritas. I was impressed with the toasted coconut garnish. We arrived on Halloween evening and the restaurant was practically vacant. We reviewed immediate and friendly service. We were seated only three minutes and was served with chips, salsa, water and the iconic cheese dipping sauce. I like the ambience at this location because indoor, outdoor, bar, table and two level seating is available. The restaurant has a section layout which can accommodate small of large parties. In general, the food is 3.5 but the added features make it 4.0. Dry refried beans and rice are frustrating to eat. However, Miguel's rice and refried beans were moist flavorful and remained this way even when the food was room temperature. Oh, the chicken enchiladas had spillage and I just scooped the chicken with the chips on the table. Portion size is quite reasonable. In general, we enjoyed the meal but it was not memorable.
