Stopped by to try an ahboong. I'm not a fast eater so I opted for the upside down ahboong (seemed less chance for a mess). You choose a filling and a soft serve flavor. I wanted to try a dual soft serve flavor, but some of the daily combinations offered sounded kinda weird (matcha and guava?) so I went safe by getting a matcha soft serve and red bean filling. Before assembling they ask if you want any toppings (I opted out) and if you wanted a macaron. There are no tables inside, but plenty outside to enjoy your treat. The matcha flavor was mild but pleasant. There wasn't too much red bean filling inside but this complemented the pastry shell. Overall was a great dessert, but be wary of the flavor combinations as I suspect some might not go well. Also picked up a few taiyaki with custard filling and these were tasty as well.

I tried this Japanese Dessert for the first time and it was a very good experience. Basically they make a Fish shaped waffle with a filling of your choice. This is called Taiyaki and you can either eat it just like that or along with a soft serve (ice cream šŸ¦) of your choice. Freshly baked Taiyaki was very soft. I would recommend trying "Red Beans" filling for the Taiyaki .... it is a little sweet but goes well with the soft serve of Macha or UBE flavour. For the first timers, I would recommend trying UBE flavour. !!! Service was very fast despite it being a rush hour between 8-9 PM.

One of the best Ube ice creams I’ve had. Ice-cream: The ice cream was yum and so was the cone and the overall ice cream. I got Ube ice cream, with Nutella filled cone and on top, biscoff biscuit crumbs, cocoa pieces and strawberry. The ice cream was yum though I’d recommend skipping biscoff bits as they did overpower the ice cream flavour. So I quickly ate them to devour the ice cream! Service: Quick and nice Ambience: Quite lovely. It was bustling when I went and still it was quick!

The staff member at UTC Somi Somi should be educated and trained well to properly prepare soft serve ice cream and serve a customer. One of the staff has no working ethics towards customers. I have been a regular consumer at this Somi Somi since they opened. Before, I used to be a regular member of the Convoy location. My 3 kids and I like this Somi Somi a lot. We go there almost every day, at least three times a week. I like the UTC location very much because they are near my place, so my family and I were so happy when this location was open--hence the frequency. However, I do not like UTC when: The ice-cream portion is not consistent. If it's only a little different, it is still alright, but there are times when the portions are significantly and obviously smaller; there's been many times when I was served a portion a mere third of the usual size. Especially one of the staff there consistently serves me in this diminished size. Technically speaking, he really is cheating me out of my hard-earned money by giving so little of the ice cream I paid for. It is sometimes too watery and melty from being made too early, and the overall quality of the ice cream itself and the experience is greatly affected. Taiyaki is not consistently well-made. It's a 50-50 if it will be cooked well or not. I have never complained, even if I have often been in these situations until now.

I am writing this complaint because my kids and I went there around 8 pm, to have Somi Somi after dinner on Aug.20th, 2025. There was a longer line than usual, but it was no problem at all for us. After we ordered, we were waiting for our turn to be called. While waiting, I noticed that the mister had prepared our orders in advance. It was on the counter for quite a few minutes. When it was our turn, I asked the miss serving us to please remake the ice cream, as it had been sitting on the counter for quite some time, and I don't quite enjoy eating melted ice cream. She replied that since they have many customers, they had to prepare it in advance. However, even so, there was no line behind me, and the mister preparing the ice cream was visibly wasting time with the other staff. They were not busy at that moment. The mister wasn't even paying attention to the customers, as the miss was busy serving all the pre-made ice cream alone. That probably suggests the mister should slow down his pace to match the miss, which also means the ice cream spends less time melting on the counter. When I complained about it, the miss asked if I still wanted it. When I replied no, she asked the mister to remake it. Evidently, he wasn't happy to have to remake it, and served an even smaller portion than usual. With his attitude, I suspect he was trying to spite me with such a pitiful portion. I was so mad, I asked them to refund my purchase and added, " I'm a Korean myself, why would I rile things up at a Korean brand establishment with a needless complaint? Please don't act like a monopoly, with the audacity to think that people will continue to be customers of this place while you...

So happy that this SomiSomi has finally opened! Located in a newer part of UTC that is still under construction. I liked that they had standing long tables outside the store. (No inside tables or seating currently)

They offer 6 flavors at a time. Sadly the fish cone for my soft-serve was cold and soft (not crispy). But the free taiyaki I got from the grand opening special was hot, crispy, and delicious! My favorite flavors are milk tea (tastes floral), matcha (very mild flavor), and ube.

Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely return due to convenience of being at UTC.

Tip: -All their soft serve is dairy free. -Check their Instagram for weekly flavors. -The mall allows first 2 hours of...
