*review good to knows* lunchtime, dine in, sat in restaurant main lounge, live music, Sunday 1pm, visited during the October Beetlejuice pop up event I loved the fun Beetlejuice pop up they had here for spooky season. All three floors of the bar had themed decor and there were spooky themed cocktails as well. All of the servers and bartender were very nice and attentive. The food and drink menu aside from the new themed cocktails were the same as usual. We tried 4 items: 🦞 Lobster Roll - 8/10: I enjoyed the flavor and texture of this roll, though the roll was small (to be expected with a lobster roll). It came with a bag of chips and a “shot” of clam chowder. I would have loved the option to opt for a larger portion of chowder instead of chips, but to each their own. 🍔 French Dip Sliders - 6.5/10: 3 sliders come in an order with the French dipping sauce. I would say the sauce is needed as the meat we had required it to make the meat less dry. The sauce was really good. 🍜 Clam chowder - 9/10: I’m biased because I love clam chowder. This was served to us piping hot with oyster crackers. The perfect pairing. 🍰 Chocolate cake - 5/10: the best part of this was the strawberries and the chocolate sauce. The cake was dry. Overall, the food was good for snacking on bar food and the ambiance was really fun here! When the top and underground are open at night the bar is even more fun. I would come here again for a night out, not for lunch.

Great atmosphere and 3 awesome levels of fun. All 3 floors have their own bar; top floor being the lounge area with a pool table, ground floor being a simple type of bar with some games and with stairs leading to the basement/dance floor. My girlfriend and I along with some friends were there this past weekend and man is the bottom floor poppin! The DJ who I assume is there every weekend, plays a great variety of music, mostly early 2000's pop and rap along with some old throwbacks. If you enjoy a great atmosphere and variety of dance music but also enjoy just hanging out while the rest of your party dances, this is a definitely must see! Also, I could be wrong but I assume there is a cover fee after 9pm? But it'll only cost you about 5 bucks. Definitely give this place a shot though, as it is just down the street from the Horton plaza parking garage on F street. Tell em Uriel sent you! (You don't get a discount or anything, just get my name out there.)

Came here with a group of friends and headed upstairs to the lounge. The main level has a dive bar vibe and underground is a night club. It’s an old building with lots of charm. The red carpart going up stars for sure need a make over. Upstairs was a narrow hallway with leather seats, fireplace, pole table. Has a dance floor with a deejay. Great street view of down town. I ordered the cucumber smash which was refreshing with gin and cucumber. Almost like gin and tonic. I love tequila so I got the pacific Paloma. It was probably bottom shelf because I did not enjoy this drink. It doesn’t have the best drinks but nice vibe. Parking in downtown is a challenge. You’ll have to parallel or pay at the meters. My friend found free parking along Seventh and F Ave. Whereas I parked at Park it on Market for $1 an hour every hour up to 6pm. After that it’s either $15 flat rate or $5 flat rate depending on the day of the week.

Tipsy is a Boston bar, so Patriots fans come here during football season. I do like the Pats, but I'm rarely here for that, so I can barely speak for that scene.

Tipsy is actually one of my go-to spots in downtown for weekend turn-ups. Been here so many times that some bouncers know my face. Cover charge is between 5-10. Ambiance is level 7 of 10 brightness with dark wooden everything. I wouldn't call it a full-on Irish pub though--probably not even full-on.

When you enter you see the main bar immediately. You can sit at the bar or at the window for street view. If you pass by the bar towards the bathroom there is booth seating, foosball table, and a bathroom. I think there are some coffee table-sized arcade games right by too.

Next to the bathroom are steps that lead to a basement with another bar. Keep going and there's a dance floor and a small stage. I think they use this stage for something like standup comedy on those non-busy weekdays. It has seats usually reserved for bottle service. You can dance on this stage. Lights and lasers are coordinated with the music; you also sometimes get the dry ice smoke spray when the beat drops. My high school buddy's husband DJs on the regular--im assumimg he's about 31-32 years old--so he plays alot of 90s and early 2000s jams with EDM between. Great balance of good stuff.. There is no AC so when packed it gets hot, humid, and sweaty unless you stay on certain areas of the floor where ceiling fans blow. Everywhere else outside the basement is cool.

There are stairs at the entrance to the 2nd floor where there is another bar, couches, more booths, a fire place, pool table, and another (1 person only) bathroom. Lots of places to lounge. Saw Connect-4 at one of the booths.

Shoot, even the food is good. I remember having some kind of turkey BLT sandwhich that came with tomato bisque. Bomb. I'm craving it now.

This place, in short, has everything. You can't go wrong unless you've been here 3 weekends in a row-- but you'll come...

Very very poorly managed. I arrived with a group of five friends after a birthday dinner. I looked at my watch and it was 1:22. I asked one of the security team at the door if we had enough time for one drink at the bar because I was sure last call was at 1:30. He was very friendly and said something like: oh sure you've still got 10 min to order. I spent 45$ on our 5 drinks after a 5 or 6 min wait trying to get service at the bar and before they even arrive the bouncers are saying we have 3 min to get out of the bar. I ran right back to the bar and pled my case to the same bartender. She assured me that they were just trying to get people moving.

The long story-short is that they yanked my drink and 2 others drinks out of our hands at around 1:45. I told them I hadn't had anything to drink before that bar and that I wasn't trying to be difficult, but that I felt really taken advantage of.

My group of friends all had the impression that they were getting close to physical violence with me. They started saying that San Diego has a zero tolerance law and trying to intimidate me by grabbing my arms.

The bartender who told me not to worry would not come back over to plead my case to them.

When we got outside I immediately ran into 2 other couples with very, very similar stories.

This may be the worst treatment I've ever had in a bar in my life. Every complaint i made was prefaced with "i am sober and really not trying to be difficult but..." I wish I could do something other than review to help people avoid this awful environment. I have never had any bar workers touch me or grab my beer before in my life. The sign on the door and the staff immediately next to it and behind the bar led me to believe I could pay for and enjoy one...

this is a bar to stay awhile. and honestly, its like 3 places in 1!

*Main level - sports bar-pub / food grubbing / game playing / stock exchangin! More of the standard hustle and bustle bar socializing. everyone has already talked about the stock exchange concept so i wont really bother...Happy hour pricing pretty good! Can get a selection of mixed drinks for $4 with whatever the current low spirit is. definitely a creative and enjoyable concept thats new to me. i dont know any other place that does it.

*Downstairs - mini night club. ive only glanced into it when it wasnt really happenin,' but there is another bar down there and they seem to play the typical top 40 / hip hop / etc

*Upstairs - Comfy, classy, casual. THIS is where my eyes lit up in delight. One thing i hate about most drinking establishments is the lack of seating...esp comfortable ones. There is a plethora of that here, yesss. The far back room is set up like cigar lounge with a pool table in the center, fireplace, library style book shelfing decor, 2 giant chairs on either end....just fantastic.

oh, and we took some FUN photos up in this area...which in my world, definitely earns the 5th star.

*Food - utilizing the yelp deal for $30 of food and drink for $15, my friend and I hit up some of the grilled cheeses. We got the Triple Threat & the Southwest Chicken. Triple Threat was def the winner. A-MAZ-ING flavor. And the tomato soup was creamy and delicious. People have spoken about the food just being aight...id agree but if you have the bar munchies its a totally legit option. those grilled cheeses have nothing on...
