I stopped by yesterday for the first time and it was perfect timing because I got to meet the awesome owner Margarita and found out more about her very welcoming, laid-back spot. Margaryta shared how she discovered the profound impact food has on our quality of life and through her journey with superfoods, realized they're some of the best preventative medicine available and felt driven to share this knowledge with the community. For the past three years, Vili's Health Bar has been serving a health focused menu of fresh food and organic coffee bean drinks on Sunset Cliffs Blvd (next to Olive Tree). They've also expanded a second location that's soon relocating from PB to La Jolla. And with this OB location being on such a busy street, I was happy to see they offer parking in the back for customers. While there, I ran into 3 separate friends so I already knew I was in good hands at Vali's.

Their smoothie bowls are made entirely from scratch, blending organic frozen fruits with coconut cream and coconut oil. This unique mix makes the bowls exceptionally creamy and packed with nutrients. So I decided to try their Ocean Dream which is a blend of blue majik spirulina, banana, mango, pineapple, coconut cream, almond milk, honey, mac nut butter and then topped with granola, blueberries, strawberries, goji berries, coconut flakes & honey. It was simply delicious!! Definitely recommend.

I also wanted to try a beverage that would pep me up so I chose the Mac-Nut Bullet which is organic espresso, organic mac nut butter, mct oil, coconut oil, and Laird superfood powder. It was the perfect brain food I needed and it definitely pepped me up while making my taste buds happy.

There were so many healthy options on their menu so if you're looking to treat you body right, this spot is for you! As they say, "You are what you eat." I also had my eye on one of their most popular items Tuna-Cado which is sliced local avocado, wild tuna mix, cornichons, pickled onion, parmesan, micro greens, hemp seeds and lemon wedge. So now I'll definitely be returning soon to try it. This is...

Honestly I have not had the coffee or the snacks. I wanted to try until the experience with the women working at the bar. It was a very early rainy Thursday morning, no one out and about on newport. My dog and I were sitting at the front tables outside minding our own business. No customers outside or inside. We were sitting and I was thinking about going in and trying something small to eat since I already had a coffee in my hand. White cup from my own house. The women, very rude, told me to move from out front of her shop because it was mean of me to drink a coffee out front of her shop that she owned and that I needed to leave. First of all that coffee was from my home(cup with no logos) second how do you know I wasn't going to come in and try something. Also there are plenty of polite ways to ask someone to move. I just wanted to sit outside on the chair until the rain died down with my dog and then go and purchase a small breakfast from this place. Also there were no customers at this time early Thursday morning in the rain. I doubt I deterred anyone from stopping at this shop with my own cup. So maybe try and be a little nicer to people who stop by your place. You never know who is going to be a ling time customer. Especially in OB rude people don't...

If I could give less than one star, I would. My husband and I are locals. Born and raised here. Live in the area. The other day, on our way to the gym, we decided to stop at Vilis Health Bar for a second try to get a juice or smoothie. It was about 2 pm, I believe they close at 4. We were told again that the juice machines were down after we were left waiting for over 10 minutes. One of the girls who worked there was standing around staring at us. I always support a local small business before I buy anywhere else, but when I’ve been turned away with attitude multiple times, forget it! I’ll never waste my time again. There were other customers sipping smoothies and juices, so it must’ve been because they were closing soon. Where I come from, the customer comes first, and you compromise. This place simply doesn’t want to be inconvenienced. After having been told the machines were down by lazy workers more than one time, I had to make a review about it. To top off our bad experience, most the smoothies and bowls on their menu run...

1. I’ve eaten a lot of acai bowls from various places and the acai here was not good. It’s definitely because the banana they used for the acai was no longer good, you could taste the rotten-y taste of banana in the acai 🤮 2. This was confirmed when we saw the bananas topped on the acai, they were so mushy and gross, I was shocked they actually served it to us. 3. They were out of blueberries as part of the topping, so when I asked if we could get peanut butter instead, they said no. Blueberries cost more than peanut butter… We asked what other fruit we could substitute and she said the only fruit they have are strawberries (already included in the açaí bowl), blueberries and mangos. And apparently they were out of mangos as well. It wasn’t until the other woman said they can give us peanut butter, because they were also out of coconut flakes. Wow. Do they realize they’re right next to a grocery store? Definitely not coming back.

Delicious smoothie, great service, excellent location. It’s so nice to find a local spot with quality healthy ingredients. This is a fully organic cafe with amazing options. They have coffees, smoothies, smoothie bowls, matcha, and some home made healthy gluten free baked goods. In addition, Vili’s sells some really sweet OB merch that doesn’t feel tacky. And they sell natural sunscreen! One note: the only downside I see is that Vili’s uses paper straws. While I am in full support of environmentally friendly options, paper straws are flimsy and dissolve. There are compostable straws that do have more strength so it’s hard to see places still using paper straws when they’re not so user friendly.
