Extremely Disappointed and Deeply Offended – Zero Care for Vegetarians I recently visited this place with my girlfriend. We ordered two sandwiches — one vegetarian for me (as I’ve been a lifelong vegetarian) and one non-vegetarian for her. To my absolute shock and disgust, I found small pieces of meat and chicken in my vegetarian sandwich. It was clear that the same oven, knives, and preparation table were used for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian items, with no effort to separate them. This is completely unacceptable for anyone who takes their dietary choices seriously — whether for religious, ethical, or personal reasons. When I brought the sandwich back and calmly explained what had happened, the staff member didn’t even apologize. No acknowledgment of how serious this was. He casually said, “I can make you another one,” and when I refused, he just refunded the money — no apology, no remorse, no care. His attitude was dismissive, as if nothing serious had happened. This experience has left me angry and disappointed. If you're a vegetarian, vegan, or have dietary restrictions of any kind, please be aware — there seems to be no respect for food separation or customer sensitivity here. I hope the management takes this seriously, because no one should have to go through this kind of carelessness and indifference. Shame on you guys. If don’t care about vegetarians please stop making them.

Golden Gate Market Deli & Liquor is a convenient neighborhood stop for locals and visitors seeking quick bites, essential groceries, and a broad selection of beverages. Upon stepping inside, you’re greeted by an inviting atmosphere and friendly staff who are always ready to help. The deli section offers a variety of made-to-order sandwiches showcasing fresh ingredients. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic turkey and cheese or something more adventurous like a custom panini, you’ll find the offerings satisfying and reasonably priced. Meanwhile, the liquor aisle features an impressive array of craft beers, local wines, and top-shelf spirits, ensuring something for every preference and distinctive taste. One of Golden Gate Market’s standout qualities is its commitment to cleanliness and organization; the shelves are well-stocked and neatly arranged, making it easy to browse. Additionally, the staff’s knowledge about the products they carry is helpful, especially if you’re searching for a specific brand or looking to explore new flavors. While the space may not be massive, it’s efficiently laid out for quick and convenient service. Overall, Golden Gate Market Deli & Liquor successfully combines quality, variety, and friendly service, making it a worthwhile stop for both everyday needs and special occasions.

Excellent super delicious, fresh, large sandwiches. I got the San Francisco- turkey, bacon, pesto, gouda and remoulade sauce, WOW! The quality of the bread also makes a huge difference in my opinion for great deli sandwiches and this certainly made it one of the better sandwiches I've had in a while! I was concerned when I saw him put my sandwich in the oven as I was looking forward to a nice fresh, cold deli sandwich on a hot day, but I was so pleasantly surprised how it elevated the experience of that sandwich, it was just warmed enough (not toasted like a sub) with the contrast of the cold condiments. I will definitely come back again to try other sandwiches.

Love/hate relationship. Every time I go in, the line has formed in a different direction. The last time I went in I got in line from the direction I assumed people were standing and the sandwich man told me I was on the wrong end. The other thing is despite having an amazing menu with items that you would expect to be hot and items you would expect to be cold EVERYTHING IS MADE HOT. Unless your request cold and they look at you funny. In the bay area if you call yourself a deli there is an expectation of cold generally speaking. This should be called Golden Gate Market Subs & Liquor if everything is gonna be hot. Besides ruebens and a couple others I hate hot sandwiches and if you look at quiznos so did a lot of people. A classic deli turkey sandwich should never be hot! And the line should lead you to the cash register not the...
