The owners were very nice to me. They were helpful.
The location is pretty good. It’s a 5 minute walk from the Palace of Fine Arts so I got to enjoy it whenever I wanted to without taking a bus or an Uber. It’s also close to the Golden Gate Bridge.
My biggest issue was the noise. I get it. It’s a hotel, and everyone is on vacation, but the floors creaked and the neighboring rooms were always very loud. The rooms are very close to each other, and I have feeling the walls are really thin because I could hear everything they were saying in the room next door.
Cleanliness wasn’t bad. I could tell they clean the rooms, but it’s just older. I could tell that the furniture just needs changing at this point. It doesn’t matter how much you clean something, if it isn’t replaced every once in a while then it’ll feel dirty no matter what.
For the price, I think this is your best option in an area like the one I chose. It wasn’t too close to the Castro where I wanted to spend most of my time, but the area was quieter than that of downtown and the Castro (which is a 15 minute drive, about 45 minutes in the bus I believe), so I got to enjoy quiet walks all throughout the day, and like I mentioned before, the stunning Palace of Fine Arts is literally a 5...
Read moreI had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Economy Inn! From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and eager to help with anything I needed. The room was spotless, well-maintained, and surprisingly spacious—everything you could want for a comfortable and affordable stay.
The bed was super cozy, the water pressure in the shower was excellent, and I appreciated the little touches like a mini-fridge, microwave, and reliable Wi-Fi. The location was also perfect—quiet at night but conveniently close to restaurants, gas stations, and highway access.
What stood out most was the genuine hospitality. You can tell the management truly cares about guests’ comfort and satisfaction. Whether you’re traveling for business, passing through, or just need a peaceful night’s rest, the Economy Inn is a hidden gem. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to...
Read moreOnly giving one star so I can leave this review. The room was disgusting from the empty trash bag in the bin covering a half full trash can from previous occupants to the air vent in the bathroom being completely caked in dust and then we found the air unit under the window was also caked in dust and debris. Under the beds was where miscellaneous trash was swept under and the bathroom floor expelled water every time we stepped on it. One bed had dirty sheets and hair covered pillow cases that smelled stale. The man who greeted us was nice, but vanished once we tried to bring attention to the bathroom vent. I have asthma and respiratory issues and that room was dangerous to be perfectly honest. We are not asking for our money back, but we will never...
