I don’t like writing 1-star reviews. Seems mean. But honestly, I cannot recommend this place. While my room was clean and serviceable, 11 other colleagues also stayed here at the same time. In other words, we had a sample size of 12, which is nearly all the rooms at this motel. Two colleagues' rooms had showers that didn’t work. Two coworkers found pubic hair on their walls and “clean” towels. One was near an ice machine or something that woke him up every 20 minutes along with shutters that didn't close. One had an air conditioner that was non-functional. And another had a toilet that didn’t work.||Isolated incidents can be forgiven, but when six rooms have issues, it’s an obvious pattern of disrepair. When one colleague complained about the pubic hair on her wall and ceiling, the owner/manager didn’t believe her. She even showed him photos and he still refused to acknowledge that the room was improperly cleaned or that it was their fault.||There is wifi, but it's slower than LTE, so it's not worth connecting to. I performed a speed test and the wifi here is 1.88 Mbps down and 0.92 Mbps up.||Finally, the room prices were jacked up because of Dreamforce (the annual Salesforce conference in The City). At $329 per night, this motel was NOT at all worth it. It's probably not even worth it at...
Read moreAnyone looking to book a hotel in San Francisco with a private bathroom will know how expensive it can be! So when we found this hotel on Expedia when researching our trip, we booked it immediately.||After a stressful arrival into San Francisco from Vegas ( entirely our own doing, got off BART at the wrong station and, as we couldn't find a cab, ended up dragging our luggage over 2 miles through the city), we were given a room on the first floor. Sure, the décor could have been better, the door had an inch wide gap all around with duct tape covering the gap and it sounded like people in the next room were actually in yours, but it had a private bathroom, a safe, a fridge and a reasonably comfortable bed. The hotel also offers a complimentary breakfast of pastries, fruit, orange juice and tea/ coffee which is served in the reception area which was a nice touch. We also found the guy at reception to be acceptably friendly.||The hotel is situated in a quiet area very close to the Presidio. There are a variety of bars and restaurants in the area on Chestnut Street and Lombard Street and it is an easy walk from here down to Fisherman's Wharf and the bay area.||If, like us, you just want a place to sleep because you're going to be out all day sightseeing, then this hotel is worth...
Read moreThe staff on arrival was very nice, but then he gave us room 15. You don't want room 15. This room is downstairs in the back and you get to it by walking through a dark hallway. It smelled like the room had not been opened in a while and only one of the three windows would open. One window looked out into the dark hallway (full of junk), one looked out into the neighbors back yard (with garbage bins), and the other, in the bathroom, was covered with ivy vines, which was probably for the best.
There was a few pro's to our stay. Because the room was tucked away there was no road noises and it was nice an dark for sleeping. The room was a nice size, appeared to be clean, and the bed was comfortable.
They advertise free on-site parking and free breakfast. Don't get too excited about either one. The hotel has 23 rooms and about 8 parking spaces. Do the math! We had booked this hotel because it had on-site parking and we ended up having to troll the neighborhood to find a parking spot! The breakfast was pastries served out of a box. I'm not against pastries for breakfast, but please, at least take them out of the box!
Would I recommend this hotel? Probably not. I will not be...
