We were here for the holiday prix fixe menu. The ambience was nice! However, the service was pretty bad and non-existent on the waiter’s part. We had waited over a half-hour before our waiter (Michael) took our orders. It was not even busy, but we had to remind him that we didn’t order yet. He did not apologize at all and assumed we ordered already. The rest of the experience was not ideal: my partner got the wrong course and Michael said he would bring the right course sent to us. This would’ve been awesome if the course ever came, but he forgot to bring it to us. Why even tell us that you would try to correct your mistake if you weren’t going to follow through?
After that, he didn’t engage with our table for the rest of our experience. We waited an hour before we had to flag a waitstaff down for our drinks. Another waitstaff was like, “what wine did you order again?”
What was irking was that Michael was overly chummy to some of the other tables and joking with them that they should “tip him big.”
I want to mention the other waitstaff were polite, but Michael was a very disorganized, uncaring, and disengaged staff member.
The food was ok, definitely bland, and overpriced. For 145 per head, this was not worth it, especially in a city with amazing...
Read moreA couple of important caveats before I dive in: 1) I only came here for lunch, and 2) this is an Italian restaurant, and all I ordered was a salad—so yes, this review is a little unfair. But only a little.
Given that this place is located in the Four Seasons and carries an elevated, upscale atmosphere, I expect that everything on the menu—regardless of how simple—should reflect a baseline of quality and care. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
I ordered the chopped salad, and it was hands down one of the most tasteless, uninspired, and bare-bones salads I’ve ever had. Especially at $24, it felt like a joke. I have no issue paying for good food, but this tasted like someone ran through Trader Joe’s, grabbed a bag of mixed greens, a handful of olives, and doused it in a forgettable vinaigrette. Honestly, a pre-packaged Trader Joe’s salad would’ve had more thought, more flavor, and more value.
I’ve had incredible, even memorable salads at high-end restaurants—salads that feel like part of the experience. This was the opposite: a missed opportunity, and completely off-brand for the Four Seasons. It left me wondering how much (or how little) attention is given to the rest...
Read moreThe four season known as a luxury hotel chain also known for their exceptional service n exquisite dining experience. However not all of their restaurants live up to the high standards set by the brand. Had lunch with friends yesterday at Orafo in sf that we found to be only okay and nothing special. The service was professional and attentive as one would expect from high end establishment our server was great to accommodate my friends who were both wanting to order from the breakfast menu which was already finished and he was great to accommodate their orders… While the food at this four season was well prepared n presented it failed to impress me in terms of flavor n creativity. The lunch menu offered a range of dishes but they seem to lack the innovation and excitement that one would expect from a luxury dining experience. This branch I felt more of a business hotel with a business dine n go style restaurant. In conclusion the service was professional n ambiance pleasant the lack of creativity and flavor...
