Patriot House Pub — Restaurant in San Francisco

I had recommended this place to many people for years when it was the Holding Company. I saw that it had remodeled being that I'm a huge fan of the TV show Bar Rescue. On afternoon me and my fiancé were in the city decided to check it out. Upon entering the staff seemed warm and welcoming, we were ushered to our seats handed menu. A larger group had been seated after us, our server went to give them menu whilst me and my fiancé were still deciding. My fiancé and I closed our menu and waited for our server to return. After about 15 minutes our server returns to take our order for both food and drinks. I finished my drink and was still waiting for my food, so I tired to get the server attention to get another drink whilst still waiting for my food. My server seemed preoccupied with the larger group, I guess fishing for a bigger tip from that table. Our food finally arrives. The food was good and drinks were balanced and well made. I wanted to order another drink however our server paid us no attention. My fiancé and I received the check and paid for our meal. Upon exiting our server asked why we hadn't left her a tip. My fiancé pointed at the flaws in her service, at which point the server stated "if you guys can't afford it" and got into a embarrassing shouting match with my fiancé. I asked to speak with a manager and was told they were out of the office. I was given both the phone number and email address for the manager. I tired to reach out for several weeks after my experience and received nothing about my experience. I will never advise anyone every to come here solely based on the service. People spend money where it's respected. This company doesn't respect their patrons money. Being that this bar is located in the Embarcadero center I would expect for staff to treat all of it's customers well. The Hyatt is less that 2 blocks away as well as BART. They never know who any customer could be as all 4 of the Embarcadero centers have offices throughout. Pleasant looking place however may leave it's customers with a unpleasant...

This place was very busy the night I went but I was patient and in no rush. The waitresses were still extremely polite and friendly and took their time to help me. The waitress let me know that one of the cooks was out sick that night so service might be a little slow. But again, I was in no rush so I ordered a burger and kettle chips. Being a pub my expectations were not super high. The place was very clean though and even though I was seated near the bar and thus the kitchen I couldn't smell the kitchen itself (usually a sign the hood vents and grill are being maintained). Not only did my burger come out in about 15 minutes (WAAAAYYYY sooner than I expected) but it tasted AMAZING!! Burger was cooked and seasoned perfectly! Not too greasy and the meat was definitely a high quality. The bun was toasted and NOT covered in butter or oil (a common affliction at other restaraunts). The kettle chips were very good too. Again, not greasy and seasoned with the right balance of salt and vinegar. If I ever make my way back to San Francisco I will definitely be returning to this establishment!! Well worth a bit...

Honestly so disappointed, I was the only customer to be asked for a card before eating or ordering and i was NOT the only customer sitting at the bar. Two extremely intoxicated woman sat down and weren't asked for payment. I was astonished they were served more alcohol. The BAR tender looked at me when I sat down and ignored me for 5 mins. The server then proceeds to say she will be with me shortly but with a look of disgust on her face. Perhaps my race is not welcomed here because that is how I was made to feel. What a terrible customer experience. Needless to say the food is equally as bad. I never leave food behind but there was no way I wanted to finish my meal or take it home. If you can ruin tots why would I want to try anything else? Besides lack of taste, customer service and a make over this place needs to consider new staff. It is clear why the place was completely dead. There was a table sitting outside and they weren't asked for a card even though they can just walk off. I have been here before because of BAR RESCUE but I think they need to be rescued AGAIN!! TERRIBLE BOTH TIMES...
