Not recommended at all. Scammed price for the sake. Food was nothing memorable and very overpriced. I’ve never been so upset with a restaurant.
Price: Total was $155 (with tax). $22 for a SINGLE sushi roll, $28 small teriyaki salmon, $14 for 5 chicken wings appetizer, and $38 one other beef main dish that was sadly mediocre. A $28 small bottle of sake was ordered too. It was a very funny scam I realized when I got home. That sake is actually worth $10! $3 soda each as well.
Food taste: The sushi was okay. I’ve had better in the island and other places outside. For $22 it was mediocre. Needed more fish than avocado. Salmon dish was small, but it was the best tasting item. It didn’t come with many vegetables. Only 3 broccoli pieces and not much sauce. The wings were not good at all. I couldn’t eat them. It was also missing the chili sauce and it took over 10 minutes for someone to arrive.
The usual rotating sushi bars I’ve been to in my life have infinitely rotating small dishes you can choose from on top of ordering dishes from the menu you may want additionally. This conveyor belt was just used to deliver your order. This just looked like an impersonal way to get your order and an excuse for the waiters to not come to you.
Service: The waiter we had also rarely came to check on us. He came to ask how our food was when the food was about to be finished. There was only 4 parties present in the whole restaurant. It was almost empty. The waiter should have been more present.
Overall: Me and my husband both heavily regret coming here for a special occasion and we are saddened with how ripped off we were. I’ve had better experiences and not overpriced food at other nicer asian restaurants in Puerto Rico and in USA/Japan. Kura sushi bar in Florida is my most recent. I will not be giving the restaurant another chance, because I believe the experience will...
Read moreMy family of four were really excited about trying this place while on vacation. Upon entering, we were greeted by the host(whom was very pleasant) and seated us right away. We sat for about 25 minutes before being greeted by the waitress or having our drink orders taken. When she finally arrived, we went ahead and placed our drink orders and appetizers. For drinks, my children ordered water and sprite, my husband ordered the ninth elixir, and I ordered the pink samurai. As for appetizers, we ordered the thai wings, the distrito roll, and the golden pheonix. Unfortunately, the drinks and the sushi were disappointing. The Thai wing sauce was very delicious.
Moving on to the main course, my children shared the teriyaki salmon. Salmon was cooked well but lacks flavor. My husband's general tsao was the highlight of the night and is highly recommended. Lastly, I ordered the denko fried rice. This, too, lacked flavor.
As for the experience, the rocket was cute and definitely fun for the little ones but not a huge wow factor. The service was very slow, considering there was only one waitress. It took 25 minutes to be greeted and place our drink and app orders. Then we had to waive her down about an hour and 10 minutes into our dining experience to order our main courses. We never received refills for our drinks or checked on at any point of the experience.
My family and I enjoy many fine dining experiences back home, and for this price point, the experience and food...
Read moreDenko in the T-Mobile District of San Juan is the perfect spot if you're looking for a unique, fun dining experience! 🚀 Your food arrives in a rocket, which sets the tone for an unforgettable meal. The atmosphere is lively and exciting, making it a great place to satisfy your sushi cravings on the island.
We started with their signature cocktails—the Love Elixir and Denko #75, both of which were absolutely delicious 🍹. For boba lovers, don’t miss the classic mango boba tea 🧋, which hit the spot!
As for the food, the Denko Roll was the standout ⭐. It’s a spicy tuna roll mixed with fresh local white cheese, deep-fried with tempura flakes, and drizzled with spicy mayo—9/10! Other rolls, like the Rainbow Roll and the Shrimp Tempura Roll, were also tasty, but the Denko Roll definitely stole the show 🍣.
We also tried the Denko Fried Rice with shrimp, and it was a solid 8/10 🍚. The General Tso Chicken, however, tasted more like teriyaki, which was a bit of a letdown (5/10). The Crab Rangoon was enjoyable if you're a fan of real crab filling—6/10 🦀.
✨ Food: 7/10 ✨ Ambiance: 8/10 (especially fun if you're craving sushi in Puerto Rico!) ✨ Affordability: 6/10 (a bit on the pricier side)
Definitely worth a visit if you're...
