BY FAR THE BEST FOOD in PR. It’s insane that the best food (both quality and flavor) place is the cheapest place we went. This place is absolutely fantastic. I’m from Japan living in Chicago, so I have a bit of a high standard for food. I was happy to finally find a good place in PR. They have a variety of delicious local foods that you came to PR to taste. Everything was full of flavor and cooked well (meat and fish are tender). My absolute favorite was the fish (grouper) dish. Grouper was cooked to PERFECTION. It was fluffy, soft, and silky!? Thank you- this is how you cook the fish! It’s hard to find places that cook it well and flavor it well. It was so delicious, it doesn’t even compare to the seafood dishes we had at other restaurants. We loved Molini’s so much that we ate here for every meal we could for the rest of our stay. It’s simply not worth going anywhere else. No exaggeration.
On a side note, David is from NY cooking delicious foods in PR for over a decade. He and his wife are so nice and welcoming. They not only have the tastiest food but have the best service and atmosphere. They also make their sauces from scratch. It adds more to their already delicious dishes. I do not know a place that can beat Molini’s in quality, flavor, price/value, and service. I don’t rate places 5 stars unless it’s...
Read moreUpdate 2025 Thank God this place is still open. The best riace and red beans you can find. Home cooking. Daily menu still good and varied
Covid era closes Sunday Monday and Thursday. ....... As usual, a great local place to get home cooked food and good service. Small place, decent prices. Menu varies regularly and has a good number of options. Today we had the pastelon de maduros.... Which they seem to cook in a special way, the plantains might have been boiled or steamed and not fried which made for a different flavor and consistency, absolutely loved it. Crunchy topping perhaps a mix of cheese and something else. We took home leftovers and I'm glad that it's tomorrow's lunch. And the other standard for these sorts of restaurants is the quality of their beans, and their beans were stellar. The red beans that is. Highly recommended. One of my regular places.
Again and again.
Pastelon de Pana! Their red beans!!! Bistec encebollado!! I love this place! Thought it had closed because of temporary...
Read moreMolini’s Café & Restaurant is a must when you’re in San Juan! For an authentic Puertorrican meal, made with fresh ingredients run, don’t walk to this small quaint and friendly family-owned restaurant. We stopped here right after arriving in Puerto Rico, they are close to the airport, and I’m so glad we did! This will now be a required stop in our future travels to the island. Never have I had beans anywhere which rival my moms! The thought of our meals here stayed with us throughout our vacation and nothing else quite came close to this level! Something the owner warned us about! LOL Everything we had was absolutely delicious, from mofongo to fried grouper (my favorite!) to their breaded steak, and their amazing Sangria, and of course their amazing beans, and dessert, ALL WAS EXCELLENT! Inexpensive, Great value for all the food we had. We Can’t wait to go...
