We went for lunch at Seccarelli today and it was just OK. We ordered a Martini and a Aperol Spritz for drinks and they took 15 min. to bring them, eventhough the place was empty. We ordered two appetizers: a swordfish carppacio and a goat cheese with pesto, toast and arugula salad. The carppacio was very good, uber fresh and the flavors were excellent. The goat cheese with pesto was also very good. The balance of flavors and acidity was to die for, extremely well prepared dish. For main dishes we ordered: the pasta special with swordfish, cucumber with butter and white wine sauce, spaghetti a la amatriciana and a spaghetti alolio. The pasta with swordfish was the best one, the sauce was well balanced and it complemented the fish nicely. Unfortunately, the pasta a la amatriciana had too much sauce and lacked flavor, and overall the presentation of the dish was not the best. The pasta alolio had good garlicly flavor but lacked the heat of the crushed red peppers, and it was butter base instead of oil base which changed the flavor of the dish. For dessert we ordered a tangerine flavored crème brûlée which was fenomenal. The flavors were refreshing on the palate and smooth and creamy in texture. We also ordered a apple struddle with mascarpone ice cream. The ice cream was the best part of that plate, the taste of the apple struddle was underwhelming. Lastly, we ordered an irish coffee which was fenomenal and a great way to end our meal. Overall, I would recommed this restaurant for people looking for a quiet or romantic dinner, but at this price point, I would have expected the pasta to be sublime but unfortunately it was a great...
Read moreGreat Italian restaurant for a date or work meeting. Also works for groups or family outings, though the ambiance calls for relaxed and hushed conversations rather than loud tables with screaming kids (which, thankfully, I’ve never experienced here). Tastefully decorated and consistently great service. Close enough to Miramar and Condado if you’re traveling to PR and want to Uber here. Close enough to the Santurce working district for a walking distance lunch with colleagues. Excellent wine selection with amazing pasta dishes. They have an underground parking if you’re driving. Also great for dining before or after a show/event at any of the theaters nearby. Prices: Moderately High. It’s located on a ground floor and wheelchair accessible. Also has outside seating, if you love to sauna. 😉
Note to owner: We recommend instructing the waiters to ask customers whether they want additional water bottles. In our case, we finished our giant glass water bottle and the waitress immediately opened another one and brought it, even though we didn’t plan on drinking anymore, since we were done with our lunch. And, of course, that was added to our bill. Second time that it has...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of dining at Seccarelli in San Juan on Christmas Eve, and it was an unforgettable experience. Despite our very last-minute reservation request, the hostess graciously accommodated my wife, son, and me without a hint of irritation. Her warm and welcoming attitude set the tone for the evening.
The service throughout our visit was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and professional. And the food? Absolutely amazing! I recommend the tagliatelle with truffles. Every dish was crafted with care and bursting with flavor. My wife and I couldn’t stop talking about how much we enjoyed everything.
Seccarelli truly made our Christmas Eve celebration special. We’re so grateful for their hospitality and the wonderful memories they helped create. If you’re in San Juan, don’t miss the chance to experience this gem. Seccarelli, the Vercher family thanks you for making our special occasion even...
