Tulum La Placita — Restaurant in San Juan

I went with a group of 6 people on a friday night, we had already went in and left to check out other places, later in the night we returned and the line was extremely long but we are from Miami so we are used to it, and we did not mind because we were on vacation! As we got half way into the line a group of locals cut right in front of us, they did not care that there was a whole line behind us going all the way back to santaella. I was talking to this other girl in front of me asking if the people that cut in front of us were with her group and she said no she had tried to also tell them that there was a line. The girl bouncer came up to me as I was talking to the other girl in line and she started yelling and cursing at me which was funny because we did nothing but waste 15 minutes in a line to get told that we need to do the line over again when people were just cutting the whole line. She tried to push my boyfriend who was just standing next to me when I was the one talking to her, she didn’t care that people kept cutting the line, so we ended up...

Overall, not a great experience. Tulum at la placita is very small lounge bar and the service was horrible. Security was overly aggressive and rude. After paying over $100 on drinks we were kicked out for having our drinks at the bar table. I get that it is a small bar, and the bartenders need the space for other customers to order their drinks but Tulum at la placita was not crowded that Thursday night. In the section where my friends and I were, no one was going towards the bar. We were not in anyone's way nor bothering anyone. After paying for the drinks a security guard told us to move our drinks from the table. I asked why and he said rudely because he wanted me to and shrugged his shoulders. He grabbed 2 other security guards and told my friends and I that we had to leave with no other explanation. My group of 6 decided to go to talum our second night of vacation. After spending plenty of money here as we had a group of 6, we decided to get some get some fresh air outside. When trying to come back in the bouncer claimed someone in our group was too drunk to enter after consuming only 3 drinks. We continued to ask how considering he showed no signs of intoxication. The bouncer then claimed that all of us were apparently too drunk to enter as if it had magically happened in the matter of 10 seconds, just for asking a question and then SPIT on 2 people from our group and began getting violent and threatening us.
