Color Me Mine — Local services in Sandy

The Color Me Mine experience is worth 5 + stars, but we head a few hiccups with the final costs that made me give it 4 stars. BOTTOM LINE: CHECK YOUR RECEIPT FOR EXTRA CHARGES BEFORE PAYING!! I'll start with the good. Color Me Mine has a fantastic selection of affordable pieces. I took six 12 year olds for a birthday activity and it was awesome! The staff were helpful and kind. The girls all enjoyed themselves and were happy with their final pieces. Now for the negative...When I reserved a table, the associate helping us assured me that it was $6 per artist for the studio fee (firing fee), as long as the girls were 12 or under, plus the cost of their piece. When I checked in the associate helping me said the same thing. Their website says this too!! BUT when I went to pay, the cashier tried to charge me $10 (the firing fee for ages 13+). She changed it for me, but acted like she wasn't suppose to. A day later, when I finally looked closer at my receipt, I noticed their was a gratuity charge mixed in with the ceramics charge. This was an added $15. I thought the final bill was higher than I figured and now I knew why. If you have a party of 8 or more, there is a gratuity charge of %10. My party only had 6. On top of all these other costs I tipped them too. In the end they refunded the gratuity charge. The final art pieces were perfect. I will go back because it is a unique experience... I will just double check all costs...

I had such an amazing experience here! We walked in and they were nice and friendly. (they will ask if you made an appointment, you don't need to. It worried us a little so just a heads up) We wanted to make mugs for the fall season and they helped us pick out the right colors and helped us to mugs that weren't the most expensive so we could have a good experience and not break the bank. We were there for 2 hrs and the set up of the store made it so you can be social with other people so it made it a social experience for my girl friend and I, where we weren't expecting one. The reason I only put 4 stars though is because I wanted this mug of mine to be amazing and I asked a few questions on how to make it a certain way and they weren't answered to what I was expecting. For example I wanted to use a stencil on my mug and I know its a little harder to do that due to the plastic not being able to stick to the mug and they told me to just tape it but that wasn't working and they didn't really offer any other solutions. Nevertheless I wasn't going to let that ruin my night and it actually made my make my mug a little more personable. When we paid the couple we were with got charged for our mugs which were cheaper, instead of making this complicated transaction they just didn't worry about it so we didn't need to stress about getting a refund and having to pay again. I was really impressed with this place and would suggest it...

My kids and I like to visit for a fun family outing. We make reservations. The last 3 times visiting the Sandy location have been poor experiences. Spending 100+ for three people, I would expect some kind of service. In the past someone walks around changing water, extra napkins to dry your brushes, and just having a kind smile and encouraging words, and engaging with customers. My kids and I have visited the Sandy location 3 times from January 2024 to February 2025. Not one time was our water changed, or extra napkins. No one checked on us. I had to change our own water and get more napkins. If this is the new way Color me mine does customer service by a get it yourself place that is fine but when paying do not ask for outrageous tip amount. When paying they asked for a $30 tip.... for what? They told me I would get a text message when order was ready. I did not receive a text message the last THREE times I visited. I wondered in to see if my order was ready. If you no longer offer text message letting people know order is ready DO NOT tell customers you do. And YES, the last three times visiting the Sandy location I DID NOT get a text message saying order is ready for pick up. Again, my kids and I enjoy doing this activity. I will try a different location just to make sure it is the Sandy location that has subpar service before I discontinue giving color me...
