I do enjoy a good ole classic burger. So when I was in downtown Santa Barbara, I made it a point to stop on by the Win-Dow stand. First of all I want to note they automatically add 3% surcharge to your bill. You can decline it, but you have to tell them. They say it is not a gratuity but it is a way to provide sustainable earnings and benefits to their staff. Onto to talking about the food... The cheeseburger was pretty darn good. Hubs ordered it and I snuck a bite or two. Classic smash burger style. It's the size of the burgers at ... dare I say it (In n Out). The price wasn't bad either at $4.35. Hubs had the hand spun vanilla bean milkshake $6. It was topped with whipped cream. He luved it, saying it tasted like true vanilla bean and not artificially flavored. I had the fresh lemonade, it was sour tarty, sweet deliciousness. I don't know what got into me but I ordered the "$8 grain bowl". It had brown rice, six veggies, two seeds, and a soft egg. I went in blind not knowing what were the veggies and seeds. It was gorgeous and fresh looking. My tastebuds battled me on the first few bites (I think it wanted more of that cheeseburger) but gradually started to enjoy the taste and flavors. Fresh crisp veggies, fluffy nutty brown rice. Oh I have to mention the size of the soft serve cones. Sweet goodness, those were as tall as my Charlie Brown head. And gorgeous looking, works of art. Hubs and I did not get one, but almost everyone around me did. The seating is all outdoors. The patio could sure do with a power washing though. The trash cans were both full so a lot of folks left their trash on the tables to be carried off into the breeze. The seating is close quarters to each other. The afternoon I visited, it was a full house and overflowing with local teen spirit just hooting and hollering the afternoon away.

I came here on opening day and waited two hours in line, but it was totally worth the wait. I got a free double cheeseburger with my order, so no complaints here! I like to taste the meat, so I ordered the sauce on the side. I highly recommend ordering it on the side, so you can control how much goes on the burger. It also helps in case you don’t like the taste, but the sauce here was decent. I didn’t realize they have a jalapeño aioli, so I’ll try that next time. The burger was seasoned well and delicious! It’s comparable to another place in town, that I won’t mention but at a lower price too. Definitely a win for me! The fries are light, crisp and not too salty. Nothing special, but they do taste good. I also tried the Arnold Palmer. I don’t normally order sodas or lemonades, but it looked good from what I seen. The lemonade was ok, but tasted a little artificial and too tangy for my taste buds. The tea helped balance it out though. Overall, I’m glad we have another option for smash burgers in town at an affordable price! Looking forward to trying more on the menu.

If there’s a fried chicken sandwich on the menu, that’s my order. I’ve tried so many places around the area that are just okay. I finally got around to trying the Win-Dow downtown and… this is the ONE. By far the best in town and beyond. Simple, affordable, fresh, and delicious. I know burgers are the highlight here, but if you get the chance to try the fried chicken - do it!

Took my 3 boys here last night…had a cheeseburger, 3 double cheeseburgers, a chicken sandwich, fries, sodas, strawberry and s’more shakes (growing boys). Drinks were VERY full of ice so you were done with your drink after @3 drinks. No refills. The wait time for food was very reasonable. Burgers were fine but inconsistent. One was really well smashed with a nice crust and the other three didn’t seem smashed at all. Chicken sandwich was really good. Someone next to us was eating the salad which looked good. Fries were average at best…my youngest said it tasted like they were fried yesterday and then they air fried them today. Shakes were good. The strawberry was delicious. Food would have been a 2 star but shakes brought it up to a 3. Prices were reasonable. Did not live up...
