If you value your time, safety, and well-being take your service elsewhere. We had absolutely foul service and experience. While attending a Bachelorette trip we decided to go to this bar specifically for the karaoke. We had an individual under 21 and checked GA state law that they can go in with a parent. We arrived around 9:30. We have time stamped photos at 9:22 taking photos over by the theater. Upon our arrival we showed IDs and were let in. Some of us got on the list for songs and we mingled and made friends. One of the inlaws went up to get NON-ALCOHOLIC drinks for those of us getting ready to sing. She ordered a diet coke and asked for some fruity drinks to the female bar tender. The female bartender offered Long Islands etc. The inlaw politely said no thank you, we don't drink, and we just came for the karaoke. We are a party of 10 and all the rest of us are over 21 and it's a personal choice not to drink. The bartender proceeded to ask "who the f is in my bar under 21". The inlaw explained that we had been carded etc and that we were under the impression that we followed all laws. The female bartender told her to get the f out. The inlaw offered to take the 1 under age girl and leave stating that most of the girls were over age. The inlaw tried to explain that we had been under the impression that we could all be there. The female bartender told her thar she can reserve the right to not serve anyone. The female bartender clapped at her and yelled for all of us to get the f out. The inlaw came over to us and was saying we need to leave and trying to explain what happened. It was not 30 seconds later and none of us even knew what was happening when a bouncer came over. He said no one could be admitted after 9 under 21...even though we had been admitted a half hour after 9 by said bouncer. We said okay and that we were leaving. The female bartender ran over yelling get the f out. Everyone said okay and the female bartender kept clapping and yelling before returning to the bar. I looked to the bouncer and said we were leaving but that's a very unkind way for her to treat people. The bouncer asked us not to escalate and the majority of us walked outside. The bride and her mom walked up to try and get our food we ordered. The bride said she would like her food to go since it was paid for. The bride stated that she didn't appreciate the female bartender's attitude. At this point, some of the girls' credit cards were still at the bar! Later the police had to collect them. The female bartender ripped off her jacket and grabbed the bride's hair and dragged her across the floor. She proceeded to hit her over and over in the head. The bride's mother did not fight back and attempted to remove the female bartender off of her daughter. The female bartender punched the bride's mother in the face, busted her eye brow, and gave her a black eye. At that moment, the rest of us were outside. The mother exited the bar dripping blood escorted by a male employee. The bride had a knot on her head. Most of us tried to attend to them and their injuries. One girl asked a man for the female bartender's name and started to record and he shoved her and told her to get off the property. We were on the part of the side walk that was city property... I told him to leave her alone and that we would go across the street but we would call the police. EMS and cops were involved. Save your money and go elsewhere. Enjoy your trip, have a good time, and avoid this place. The individual below is the bar tender, Catie, who assaulted 2 of our party and caused one to need 4 stitches in her eyebrow.

First off, let me take responsibility for choosing a place outside of my wheelhouse. My wife and I are not bar people. We much prefer quieter venues with table service and less alcohol. That being said, the food at McDonough's is surely a cut above standard bar fare. First, the good. Our food arrived quickly and hot off the grill. My hamburger steak was very good with peppers, onions and gravy. The mashed potatoes were instant but passable. The collards were as good as any out of a can and well seasoned. The wife's mushroom/swiss burger was cooked as requested, tasty, and the fries were good and hot. Additionally we were not charged for her iced tea as I had a couple of draft beers with dinner. Now the not so good. McDonough's is a bar first and foremost. Loud music, loud people, loud activities. If it's not karaoke, it's trivia. You must yell across the table to be heard. There is no table service. We had to approach the bartenders for every need, from menus to salt. Although they did take care of us the best that they could and I don't fault them at all. In addition, parking is a nightmare. There is very busy paid street parking if you can find it or a parking garage about a 1/2 mile walk away. If you are looking for a bar with good food, McDonough's will fit the bill well. If you are looking for a restaurant, keep looking.

The good part: place was clean and cozy. It was slightly dark, but i suppose it's just the way the lighting was. The server was very nice, and truly mastered serving customers. I would love to give this restaurant a 5 star rating, but i just couldn't. I ordered hamburger steak with mac and cheese. Never mind what the other 8 people ordered. The steak was cooked medium rare, just as I ordered. However, it was so dry. I tried a few more bites to make sure I'm not making a mistake of judging the food, but I was right, I'm sorry. The meat was dry and bland. It felt like I was chewing a cardboard. The Mac and cheese, well it started fine, until I noticed something else on the plate. At first I thought it was shard of glass, the I realized it was a hard plastic. It looked like a lip of a plastic container that's broken off. I didn't bother telling the server, because I thought she's already having hard times. I took a picture of it. Maybe someone could identify it for me.

I will preface this review with: ||Everyone was really nice and accommodating. The pub was a cool place to hang--definitely convenient for late night drinking, simply up the stairs where you could pass out without having to wait on an Uber driver to pick you up. A short walk to any of the really "hip" places to hang out. The room was cozy. Breakfast included was definitely a plus--just told the bartenders we were staying upstairs, and they handed over the breakfast menu. Pancakes! No silly continental breakfast here!||||BUT||||When we arrived, I was surprised that my husband and I were the only customers to book any of the 4 rooms available for the weekend--Savannah usually boasts a large number of tourists. ||In fact, Janice said we could choose any room we wanted. Nice! But with the top floor already in mind (since we're above a bar, duh), I asked if she could just take us on up. She took us the "shortcut" which was us being ushered through a small closet door leading through the kitchen, squeezing through some tight spaces to get to the hallway to where our room was in the far corner (hmmm.) ||Then, she informed us the ONLY entrance to this floor from the outside would be via elevator--which is typically reserved for Billy's Place patrons.||Since there are about 2 doors that stay locked at odd times, we had much difficulty accessing that elevator at different times. Thankfully the bar downstairs is open super late, because I don't think we would have been able to get back to our room. ||The bars close at 3am (and being our first night in Savannah, we took advantage...) We had to beat on the door of the pub to get them to open the doors for us to access the elevator (the only access to our room, remember?). ||They were really nice about it, BUT it was just super inconvenient for us and them. "Umm, excuse me can you come unlock this door so we can get to our room?" I highly suggest they offer a separate key to individuals staying at the Inn.||||Street parking - Was told exactly where to park; still ended up with a $25 ticket since I was in the way of the "street cleaner" - a heads-up on this would have been nice.||||OH, and there was NO SHOWER DOOR or SHOWER CURTAIN. Not even a rod to indicate there ever was one. Still trying to figure...
