RUDE. DISRESPECTFUL. AGGRESSIVE. That’s how I would describe the experience and employees - except Raul who is the best asset they have and was left to apologize for the others’ poor behavior. My friend was performing on the patio here and motioned for us to sit at her table. When we tried to go sit at her table the hostess said there was a wait. I explained my friend told us to come sit at her table. The hostess then proceeds to roll her eyes and show me a list saying there’s a wait - to which I said my friend said for us to come sit at her table - surely the people waiting weren't waiting for her table so why would there be a wait at her table?! I had driven an hour to be there and was decided to just leave because it was ridiculous. My friend saw me leaving, I explained why and she told us again to come sit. I walked back to the entry and told the girl my friend told us to come sit at her table and the girl huffed, rolled her eyes, and was like go. So we did. She then walks over and throws the menus and the silverware on the table and walks off - no eye contact, no words, just rude. I had my 14 & 15 year old daughters and our corgi with me. This made my 15yr old very uncomfortable. She was like, “I don’t want to eat here, they’ll do something to our food.” I told her not to worry about that, and that it’d be fine. Our corgi was laying under the table watching the other dogs who were under their tables and probably being envious of those in their owners laps. In all, there were 8-9 other dogs on the patio in addition to her. There was one dog who wasn’t leashed (he was well behaved and didn’t bother to try to leave his owners side) but my daughter picked up our dog (who was leashed) and put her on her lap just in case. Some man who worked there came out touched my daughter’s arm (I didn’t know this until we were almost home), and started speaking to her loudly and aggressively. I’m not sure what exactly he was saying because he was speaking so fast and angry, but it was something about not feeding the dog under the table or not to have the dog at the table. Mind you, we had been here for 5-7 minutes, didn’t even have water yet much less food, so our dog wasn’t eating anything (and she doesn’t get people food anyway) and there were other dogs on their owners’ laps so again I’m not sure what his problem was with us. He made my daughter very uncomfortable and she was like, “mom can we just go home?” I was like it’ll be fine. I started looking around because I definitely felt singled out and noticed that we were told not to feed the dog under the table but the guy behind us put his dinner plate on the ground so his dogs could finish his food! At that point I was over it because like my daughter, I didn’t trust them to prepare our food, and my daughters were both uncomfortable so we left. I told my friends bye and drove an hour home. This is NOT the way you run a business, not how you treat customers, and you NEVER EVER touch anyone, especially a minor, and definitely not when you are about to be rude and aggressive and...
Read moreI’ve been a customer here since the restaurant opened and always enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, the customer service has declined significantly in the last year, especially at the bar.
One bartender in particular, the younger, heavy-set white woman, regularly avoids her duties, ignores customer cues (like empty drinks or checks), plays favorites, and acts annoyed when asked to perform basic tasks. I’ve seen her slam cups, complain openly, and spend extended time away from the bar socializing with coworkers or going outside. This isn’t just my experience, friends I’ve come in with have noticed the same thing, people I know locally have commented on it, and at least one other online review calls out this exact behavior. I've also seen customers walk in and stand at the bar, wondering where she is.
On my most recent visit (9/21/25), I gave the place another chance after weeks of avoiding it. Once again, the bartender neglected her basic duties, and when I asked for service, I was met with an attitude. As I left, I overheard mocking remarks from another employee (the older Hispanic woman), who later confronted me outside with a hostile and dismissive attitude, even telling me it was “my fault” because I’m “mean (or in other words, I mind my business)” Keep in mind, the bartender was "socializing" with this lady in the back. Very unprofessional. She acted very ignorant, trashy and aggressive, and also admitted she did not care to hear my side of things. She tried saying Lisa has a problem with me too even though I have barely interacted with her, so it really just made them seem gossipy and unhinged. She also said I didn't say hi to her when I walked in a few times, as if that's justification for hostile and passive aggressive behavior towards a long time paying customer. Absolutely trashy behavior from this older woman. I just want basic service when I come in and the stand offish behavior to end. I say may I please when I ask for things, I mind my business and that's it.
I want to note that in the past I’ve had positive interactions with bartenders here, but the service recently has become disrespectful, unwelcoming, and unprofessional. I don’t expect special treatment, just basic service without hostility. Everyone knows that in the service industry, you don't have to like your customers but should still do your job. Until management addresses these issues, I can’t recommend this place to anyone. I have always come here to relax and eat food, not get sucked into "high school clique drama," or be talked down to like I am required to...
Read moreUPDATE: I'm so happy to update my rating and review based on my recent experiences. T+T is back on point! Awesome food, awesome service. In the future, we will make it a point to call out issues as they happen, Tacos+Tequila is a great asset to our local food scene and I know the owners want everything to be awesome. We've placed large party orders for local businesses several times in the past, and we will continue to do so - thanks for caring, T+T!!
PREVIOUSLY: Gave it another try. It’s even worse. Drink was made wrong, dressing missing from salad, side order missing and server gone for a long time so as not to bring the missing items, up charged for a different meat without being told. Al pastor tastes like nothing… and oh my God, the flies. We generally love Tacos+Tequila, but a recent series of missteps compels me to leave a less-than-stellar review. Today the al pastor taco tasted like nothing, in part because there was very little meat on the taco. What little was there was gristly and flavorless… even the sauce that comes with it didn’t seem to have any flavor. Likewise the Arroz Texano was lacking, in fact the queso was the only thing that had any flavor (actually the green peppers tasted like green peppers, unfortunately we don’t like green peppers much!). Considering that it has chicken, steak, and shrimp on it, it’s kind of amazing that all three proteins could each taste like - nothing. Today’s salsa tasted okay, but it definitely wasn’t the best (too much oregano, maybe?) and it was an odd color. My skinny margarita looked like water and tasted like water as well. I’ve had it many times so I know what to expect, and this was not good (I squeezed my lime wedge into it, but that just really didn’t make much of a difference at all). Our server was not the most attentive, but he seemed like a good guy and maybe he had too many tables. Anyway, whatever it takes to get things back on track, I highly encourage the management and staff to make it happen. If y’all are okay with being average (3.0 stars), then no worries… you are on your way. But you have been so much better than this, and I hope you return to form. Please know that although this is a review of one experience, our last several visits have been similarly disappointing and it’s a trend you should be...
