I've been coming to this family-owned restaurant for over more than a year now. It's literally my favorite restaurant everrrrr. Everything is homemade, including the tortillas, horchata, and juice. The owner, his kids, and staff go above and beyond with their service. Their service is thorough AND quick! They also have a super welcoming atmosphere. Best AUTHENTIC cuisine you'll ever find, especially in Savannah!
The owner is amazing because he walks around greeting/talking with customers, but not in an annoying way! I once went and ordered 3 tacos, ate them all, then went back up and ordered 3 more. He asked "for here or to-go?" I said, "for here!" He looked at me and said, "Are you sure you'll be able to finish them all?" I said "yes." As I was taking the last bite of the 6th taco, he walked over with a surprised face and said, "Oh wow! You really did finish them all!!!" And we both laughed. For reference, I'm a small girl, but these types of family-friendly interactions are why I come back, besides the...
Read moreI've read a lot of reviews on this restaurant and I always wanted to try it. Finally today I went in right after they opened. I spent a lot of money. I ordered 4 tacos - barbacoa, carnita, shrimp, and al pastor. First, the meat on the pork taco tasted too porky, after one bite I couldn't eat it. I don't know any other way to describe it. Aside from that, the taco shells wouldn't stay together and they just all fell apart as I picked them up. Actually they seemed a little wet and floppy, they kept breaking into pieces and I had to fight to keep everything together. The meat in the tacos were "ok", nothing outstanding. I didn't find a taste in any of the tacos that I could really brag about. I never had a taco with pieces of cabbage instead of lettuce. And barely any cheese on them was also disappointing. I ordered a side of rice as well, it was ok but I didn't finish it. Excellent, friendly service - I will give them that. But, I...
Read moreWow if you like tacos then definitely come by here! Their menu is simple, 7 different proteins, 5 different methods to eat them. We were first greeted by the friendliest person to ever work in a taco restaurant, such high energy. He was telling us it was all very good and I believe him. Everything is made in house fresh, including the tortillas and the salsa.
We had a carnitas, al pastor, carne asada, and a shrimp taco to start, with everything on it. Then we had to dive back into another carnitas and carve asada. So good.
The house made salsas were also amazing. It's too bad they don't sell just tortillas and salsas because we'd buy them by the box load.
We will definitely return to try the other tacos, then move down to the tostadas, burritos, quesadillas, and tortas. Oh, speaking of, he said they make their own bread for the tortas so yeah, we will definitely try those.
And don't forget to check the crazy art...
