Owners: check the cameras and confirm with your staff the following events. I am a recently hired executive at a large local business who historically frequents your establishment for staff parties / outings. My company budget will no longer be going towards this establishment.
I went here to finish up some work after hours. I was at the bar with my computer and had two appetizers and some drinks. I am not from Arizona, and have been traveling here just recently due to new employment.
Upon checkout, both my cards did not work. I carry two and both are from Citizens Bank. A business, and separate personal checking account. Apparently, they are somehow linked.
I’ve been traveling for work, and Citizens decided to lock both my accounts at this time for “suspicious activity” due to travel when attempting to pay out the $150 bill. Something that was completely unexpected and out of my control. And understandably annoying for all parties involved.
This unfortunate circumstance caused some understandable friction with the bar staff. I called my bank to try and resolve this only to find they recently stopped customer support at 7 PM EST. Unable to reach customer service to unlock both my accounts, I notified the bar staff and manager of the circumstance.
I showed them the checking account balances of $3k+, and the error to confirm the issue was with my bank’s fraud department. I proactively offered for them to hold my ID and both bank cards until I could resolve the issue in the morning. Because I wanted to over extend myself by giving them security/leverage. I’m traveling, and literally cannot take my return flight without my license. I had hoped this would show good intentions. I did not have to do this.
Upon receiving this information, the manager Dante, was incredibly rude. He had no empathy for the unique circumstance (which I get is annoying) and got very angry at a customer. Indirectly calling me an “idiot” without using the word for being locked out of two accounts simultaneously. And made me explain to him that, yes, ATM withdrawals also don’t work when bank security locks your accounts.
He was fairly aggressive and rude, but understanding his frustrations - as a customer, mind you - I remained calm. Even when I asked to take a picture of my own card while leaving so I could call the bank in the AM, after voluntarily letting him keep the contents of my wallet, he refused to give me my own property. Which I’m fairly sure is illegal. He made me take the picture from a distance, which was frankly embarrassing. He then proceeded to make a public scene of this exchange with the rest of the bar, security and host staff - improperly showing them how to treat a customer.
I calmly left, and decided to call the emergency theft hotline of my bank which I knew has 24/7 hotline with the picture I had taken. Apologizing for the inconvenience, I asked if they could unlock my two accounts over a 20 minute call. They obliged, and unlocked both my cards. I returned, explained the unconventional way I had solved the unexpected issue to Dante, and sure enough the cards went through.
After resolving the issue, which again was outside anyone’s expectation or control, I made the mistake of expressing to Dante, the manager, that I didn’t feel comfortable with how he had handled the situation. I was clearly going out of my way to cooperate, and his aggression towards a cooperating customer was unnecessary.
I delivered this information man to man, and respectfully. Even considering the preceding events. Dante proceeded to get so aggressive that he was physically in my face, I had to take a step back and put my hands in the air to disarm the aggression. He then notified the entire security team and host staff to escort me out, who seemed equally uncomfortable having witnessed the exchange and my lack of confrontation.
Totally inappropriate behavior. You didn't lose a customer, you lost a multi hundred person local company and their outing budget. Ownership, email me if you need to fact check that;...
Read moreThe attitude of the security team must be reviewed and changed, this security team is being biased and discriminatory, I frequent Old Town Scottsdale for the last 9 years I'm well known down there especially for my dancing, I do not drink I'm a senior citizen, I'm always cordial and respectful of everybody, the security team has a few long timers that actually are outdated and should be gone, not only did they not let me in and they did not let the person behind me in either, they did not give a reason for me not being allowed to be in however I did have an incident there a year ago with the security team harassing me for just standing around in certain areas they asked me to move I moved they asked me to move again I moved they harassed me and chased me around and forced me to move six times finally I said I'm not going to move anymore I'm not in anybody's way I'm not doing anything, and then they asked me to leave, I have been to this club a fair amount of times from the time of that incident so I thought everything was fine, however this last Saturday night I approached to go in and I recognized the very very big guy haven't seen him in a while and said hey how are you with a smile , he replied you're not allowed to come into this club, to my surprise I was shocked and he turned to one of the other security guys and said he's not allowed to come in right and that guy didn't respond but he turned around and said you're not allowed to come in! I said a few things to him cuz I am tired of these younger people disrespecting senior citizens, turns out he also denied the guy behind me cuz he was wearing shorts. These clubs are busy no matter what happens so I guess the security teams seem to think who cares right but that was two people they denied and the guy behind me spent a lot of money in one of the other clubs buying drinks! Look at the rating of this club! There are also other people here complaining about the security team in other reviews, I guess that says it all! Security team's job is to remove obnoxious drunk people who pose a threat, or people inciting a fight, never have I done either one of those...
Read moreI am so disappointed. I have been going here for about a year. I love to dance. Love music and a good vibe. The music there is good. The food is good. The beautiful ladies that work in lingerie are sweet to me.
I went there twice yesterday. I actually got my boyfriend to come out with me because his best friend is visiting from Hawaii. It takes 12 miles to walk there. The “Babe” made me a fantastic drink. I was just there to dance and let the boys watch the game. I still danced. Her replacement bartender actually knew me and my drink. Maybe I just don’t want to see them going down. I read their google reviews and thought about it. I have been managing at a store for 16 years. I was nominated training manager of the year out of about 4000 people. I had been on medical leave for 11 months and went back to work in mid June. My store was down in all stats. When we miss our target no one gets extra commission and I don’t get my bonus. So I know how to make money. Now back to the best times ever dancing there on a crowded Saturday night. I got kicked out by security a couple times in the past. I thought it was hilarious. I would just walk back in. Some of the best times just feeling the music. I dance because I have a demanding job. And my bf wants me to have fun. I love to dance it out. Back to my skill set… I made bonus in June even though the store was on fire. I also made August. I trained my newly hired staff in July. It was so busy, I had to train by show and tell. They loved it. My staff learned how to hustle in July. I had one new employee per week. I put in 12 hours a day 6 days a week, preparing for Labor Day. We were the number one store in the district. Out of 14 stores. Highest percentage over plan. Bottled blonde has been my happy place. I am praying for Meya. Tonight I went there at midnight. They wouldn’t let me in. I didn’t understand at all. Like, a year, I am going to miss my happy place. Now unfortunately I understand their review score. I’m sad to not see...
