I give this place four stars because it lives up to the expectation of offering authentic pizza in an ever more fake world. This place reminds me of the classic pizza parlors (as they used to be called) that I remember all over the Texas and Oklahoma New Mexico region when I was growing up in the late 70s and early 80s. Places like Shakey's pizza. Shotgun Sam's. Pizza planet. (Although this place is a little more upscale). Hand tossed pizza (there was no other kind) cooked in a brick oven. Real ingredients. Checker table cloth. All the trappings of good olde skool pizza. One thing that's mildly amusing, is how this place caters to kids. As such, be prepared for the noise. There was a family with four small children next to us who's favorite hobby of one of the toddlers was throwing his metal toy bus at other people, or just on the ground. We watched the mom pick up the toy and give it back to the child only to have him do it again and again. And again. Pretty much the whole time we were there. (People are weird) Anyway, it's noisy. Don't plan on having a quiet romantic dinner here because this isn't the place for that. It was difficult having a conversation. It's great for families with small kids, however and there's nothing wrong with that. Not even in yuppy, uppity, old town Scottsdale. Anyway, the pizza was excellent, the cheesecake was awesome, and the service was great! I'll be back for the charcoal fired pizza for sure because it reminds me of my childhood growing up in Oklahoma, where they know how to make pizza.

My husband and I are renting a condo this week above this tempting restaurant. The first night we ordered 2 pizzas and literally feel in LOVE. The customer service is exceptional. The owner is really sweet. The atmosphere is very nice. Prices are good. So we decided to order salads the second night. I ordered a Chicken Cesar salad and my husband got cold feet and decided to order from another local restaurant across the street. Boy, should I have done the same🄺🄺🄺. Got my food. The salad had no chicken in it. So I went back down stairs and explained the issue. Abigail brought back a small amount of chicken in a container wrapped in aluminum foil. I ordered a LARGE salad 😟. I didn’t make a fuss. I thought šŸ’, it’s ok I’ll make it work. Got in the condo and opened the container to dried out tiny strips of chicken jerky. šŸ˜”šŸ˜”šŸ˜”šŸ˜” I went back down stairs this time Abigail got the manager. He came over and kindly addressed my needs sending me on my way with what I thought was ā€œbetter chicken.ā€ The new chicken was dry and flavorless too but it didn’t resemble jerky this time. I thought to myself it’s ok, who needs Protien anyway?!? I poured my ā€œCesar dressingā€ on my chicken less salad and took a bite. The dressing was unique. None like I’ve ever tasted. It was not Cesar dressing at all🤬🤬🤬. I was out of my $12 + no chicken nor proper dressing. Left with lettuce šŸ˜’šŸ˜’šŸ˜’. Just order pizza, that’s what they do best!

Came in here with very high expectations and it was good but I just cannot give it 5 stars. We waited to be seated outside somewhere nice but ended up getting put in the alley. The toppings are way too pricey in my opinion because I like to get a variety on my pizza. I wish there was more topping choices as well..I heard they get asked a lot about having pineapple as a topping and seems like they won't listen. They will take request to do certain toppings on only half of the pizza....but they will still charge you full price which is fine but when I asked if I could get my topping on half the pizza but the same amount of topping to be used as if I ordered it on the whole pizza and the server argued with me and said no without any valid reason so I just said forget it. The pizza took a very long time but finally came out after close to 40 minutes. The pizza crust was thin but not too thin which I liked. There was not enough sauce for my liking and the cheese was just ok as well as the toppings. If it was not so expensive and if they had more interesting toppings I think this place could have been really good. If you like plain pizza i.e just pepperoni then you might find this place is good for you but if I'm having only pizza for dinner I want to add lots of toppings. The food is 4 stars but after writing this review and rather poor customer service I decided over all this place gets 3 stars.

I have never in my life asked for a manager or wrote a bad review. EVER!! At 47 years old this is a first. The hostess said 20-30 minute wait as we stood in the doorway with people walking in and out around us. I assumed, as my two kids don’t eat pizza, there would be something else at a ā€œmade from scratchā€ restaurant. We were finally seated after more than 30 minutes and me looking at the app online to see the parties in front and behind me. I saw that there was a 17 person party and a 9 person party added quite a bit later than we had been. Mind you this is a tourist town. We were taken to a back ā€œoverflowā€ room that was a bit like a converted office, which would be ideally suited for big parties who were all together. With the acoustics, you couldn’t hear anything if others were in there… and of course two fairly large groups who appeared to know each other were promptly seated in the room with us. It was horrible! My husband then went to ask about the empty tables on the patio right outside of our detention room. He was informed that those were being saved for the 17 and 9 person parties mentioned earlier. We were then told that they didn’t have any flexibility to make anything other then pizza when I asked just for cheese bread for the kids. During this, more people were being seated in our ā€œspecialā€ room making it impossible to converse below near shouting as the sound just echoed off the walls, making us either silent diners or fellow shouters! We continued to see lots of tables empty on outside patio, which was also considered an overflow but at least offered a non ā€œoffice spaceā€ ambiance and the ability to talk to each other. It would have been better. When we asked again about a table outside, we were told again about the party of 17 and 9 that were coming. At this point, the tables had not even been pushed together or set up. People other than our server delivered our food to us and then disappeared. Our server never checked on the food or our drinks. As we were completely done with our meal and paying our check, the table for the party of 17 started to be set up. I asked the server about it he said, ā€œoh they are coming.ā€ (In a flip sort of tone) I then asked for a manager. The server asked if we still wanted manager after we had paid. I said yes and told him he had done nothing wrong (other than disappearing). The manager finally came as we were leaving. Ironically the party of 17 finally started to show up. He ā€œplacatedā€ me saying he understood and things were busy etc etc. In the middle of talking us, he got distracted by some other diners and said, ā€œoh look they are trying to get a pic!ā€ And then said to them, ā€œI can take for you.ā€ He looked at my family and said, ā€œplease don’t leave but hold on.ā€ At that point I decided to write a review after wasting even more time with no resolution. As I said I have never asked for a manager or written a review. The food was just ok, and the way the restaurant was run and how customers are treated is absolutely disgusting. I 100 percent suggest that you do not go to this restaurant! A horrible, terrible experience...

My son and I were looking for a quick bite to eat after making a pit stop at the ESPN tailgate party for SB57 in old town Scottsdale. This is my mother-in-laws; my kids' grandma's favorite place and when we come here with her, they provide her with exceptional service but we had the opposite.

In the beginning, our server Brock was friendly and attentive. But then, when other table showed up, we seemed to be the last on her mind. We're the only "colored" table outside, while the rest were all white.

The table next to us was seated after us, ordered after us, and received their food after us! Our salad came the same time as theirs, they ordered 2, while we shared 1. They got their pies, not one but two 16"! We got ours after I stopped her about ours. When we finally got our pizza, it was cold, the pan was cold too!

I did not eat it, so I walked over to the host and mentioned what happened. He was nice enough to apologize on our servers' behalf, however, when our sever finally came out to apologize, she was not compassionate and her attitude changed and seemed awkward towards us. Not once has she came over to check up on us, offer anything else, nothing! When we finally go out our fresh, hot pizza, which didn't take that long either, we wondered why did the first order took so long? We knew then, she forgot about us.

I really wanted dessert, but she was rushing us to leave, because she had our check ready to go and not once offered us dessert. I still left a tip only because I know servers don't get paid much hourly and depend on it for their livelihood, but only if they deserve it. But to be honest, she should not have gotten a penny from us, but because I am a nice person, I still gave something. I am never coming back to this establishment again, even though it's my MIL's all time favorite and because she lives around the corner!

We felt discriminated because we are Asians. I was expecting great service with delicious food, now this place leaves a bad taste in my mouth,...

If I could give zero stars I would. We arrived there was nobody there we were coming to relax as my father was in the nearby hospital dying of cancer. The first thing that we have to deal with was one woman who just constantly white plates and stacked them about 6 to 8 ft from our table. I don't know why they stacked the plates in the main dining room but it was clanking throughout the whole meal It just never stopped. As for the service it was very poor we had a young girl who seemed to want to hang out with the other guys that work there and barely came around. My sister ordered her normal vodka tonic with lime drink and she brought it with lemons and then insisted that she had ordered it that way. We ordered the Brooklyn and the don while the Don had plenty of sausage the Brooklyn barely had any. We had to order extra sausage which came at the end of our meal when the pizza was cold. Our waitress did not clear our table and we're literally sitting there with leftover pizza and then she brought boxes and never cleared the table so we had no room to do anything. On top of that there was a birthday party where a 5-year-old kid was screaming at the top of his lungs. I went outside to get away from it and then they brought the kid outside and he was screaming outside. Well this is not the fault of the restaurant the rest of the experience was terrible. It was very disappointing when we just wanted to get away and relax we had to leave and not finish our drinks because it was so loud. My mom is hard of hearing and she was saying how loud it was also. On top of that the default tip is 18% which I didn't want to leave but didn't want to bother figuring out what how much to leave. I was going to leave 10 to 15%, but it didn't give me that option. I don't know why anybody thinks it's appropriate to be washing and stacking plates in the main dining room It was one of the loudest dinner experiences I've ever had and will not...
