My elderly friend and I visited your restaurant in Scottsdale on Monday at 12pm.
When we arrived we found it difficult to find the front door since all doors were locked.
When we entered the restaurant we were greeted as if we were interrupting the host.
Once we told him we would like to sit outside, he said that he will show us to the back part of the restaurant since "this is the main restaurant"
As I said before I was with my elderly friend who has to walk slow. The man walked so fast that we couldn't keep up with him and had to figure out where we were going on our own.
Once we found the bar we were brought out by the bartender. We were then placed and the very end of the patio where a fire truck was parked with their engine on. We were the only people outside.
The bartender was our server and was very rude.
I had never been to this restaurant before so I needed some time to look over the menu. He took my drink order and walked away as my elderly friend tried to place her order for diet coke.
After we got our drinks, there was a breeze which is understandable and nothing the sever could do about that, but it would have been nice for our drinks to be out in a to go cup because after that breeze all the dust and pollen blew into our drinks and all over the bread and butter. We got up and moved to a table that was a little more covered than the one we were sat at. I had to go I side and ask for to go cups and was followed up with attitude.
Food was ok, but not worth the horrible and disrespectful service we were given.
While we were eating the bartender kept coming out and asking if he could take our plates...as we are still eating!
After we got our dessert he brought us togo containers and asked for the credit card to pay. He ran the card, came back gave the card back and said that we have to leave because they are closing. We still gave him a $10 because that's what you do, but he didnt deserve it, not one cent.
We ordered a grilled chicken and mozzarella sandwich, a chicken parm sandwich and 2 chocolate cake slices, with 2 sodas.
My experience was so terrible. I left a review on...
Read moreWe visited Pasta Brioni while on vacation and it was a pretty good neighborhood place. They did have outdoor seating, but it was a little chilly the night we went, a Thursday, so we reserved a table in the bar as all reservations in their dining room were unavailable. The bar area is designed in all dark wood with large TVs above the bar and in the corners of the room.
We arrived and were escorted to our table. I think the host is either the bartender or a floor manager. He was doing both jobs, so maybe he does both.
As soon as we sat down, our server arrived with water and bread. Gave us a few moments and then took our drink orders.
I know my wife got the beet salad and thought it was wonderful and then had the shrimp scampi and thought that was great too.
I ordered the Wedding Soup and it was good but was buried in spinach. It was like there was a kelp forest in my bowl as it overshadowed everything else in the soup. I removed all the spinach and, I'm not exaggerating, half the soup was gone. If I wanted a wet, crappy salad, I'd have ordered one.
I then ordered the lasagna. This lasagna was dense. I ate every last bite and thought I was going to die. It was wonderful. However, I learned that if you go there and order the lasagna, you cannot eat anything else while you're there. It's a great dish, but insanely dense.
It's such a great place and they knew practically everyone in the place. The dining room was packed, the bar was packed, and customers were getting turned away! On a Thursday night! If you're in the area, stop by, you will not be...

I have to say that Pasta Brioni is my favorite pasta place I have visited in a very long time. There aren't many places anymore that are serve a good pasta dish. Food chains like Olive Garden are changing their menu to meet demand and other places try to make simply quality food fancy without the sensibilities. But I am so happy to have experienced Pasta Brioni where the food, service and the vibe are simply amazing.
We had their clams pasta and seafood pasta. Well saying it was delicious is an understatement. It was beyond. It had childhood nostalgia, light and fresh ingredients. The broth/sauce in the pasta was so soupy that there was no strand of noodle or a sip of sauce leftover. That's what I i liked - the food wasn't heavy or lathered with pounds of butter and heavy cream. It was exactly how pasta should be - simple and classic. Their house bread and butter were delish too!
The people working here are kind,, genuine and interested in making your dining experience worthwhile. The chef went around each table to ask how they liked their dinner. It's the simple and small gestures that make a great difference.
Old school flavors with moderation that's how I would describe this place. I don't know how they are doing but however it is, is working. Keep it up and I cannot wait to visit Arizona and Pasta...
