Read moreAn decent ambiance and a well stocked humidor, I just will be careful to pay with cash if I ever return to this establishment. I did not get the stellar service that has been described by some other reviewers here, but it was adequate. Unfortunately, all the good points of the Fox Cigar Bar were wiped away by the way the management handled the follow up. On 12/12/2021, I was there for about 20-30 minutes. I had one beer and a cigar. The bill was $16.95 on which I tipped $4.00 using my credit card. When the credit card statement was reconciled, they had actually charged my credit card $36.67 instead of the $20.95 that was the actual charge and tip. This could have been an honest mistake or perhaps someone adding a bit of "fat" to the tip - I don't know and I did not ask. I stopped by to restaurant to get it resolved. I was told that the "manager" there was not a manager that could solve an issue like this - I was to e-mail someone else. I did so and after a couple attempts I ended up with Jason. Jason was very slow to respond to the problem and finally offered a "gift card" for the exact difference between the transactions. Months went by with back and forth e-mails to get this resolved and Jason did not come through on one single promise to resolve it. The situation stands with Jason offering to "mail" me the gift card (presumably only useable at their restaurant) in June and him having never done so and not responding to requests for an update. Here on Nov 1, 2022, it is unresolved.
Very unfortunate. As I said before, IF I ever return to the Fox Cigar Bar - I'll be sure to...
Read moreFox cigar bar is the, or one of the top cigar bars in all of the Phoenix area. It's located in Old Town, so plan accordingly if you're going to go there during the weekend or during any kind of festival events in the area. Parking can be a problem. There is no on-site parking.
The layout of the bar is a tasteful traditional gentlemen's club (and I'm not talking about a stripper bar here) layout with the big comfortable club chairs and all the wood that you're accustomed to if you've been to other top-notch cigar bars.
They have a large walk-in humidor with extensive collections from all of the great traditional brands, as well as some of the new up and coming brands.
I'm very conscious of cigar prices and I find the prices they have to be very, very reasonable. There's also an admirable selection of scotches and whiskeys, as well as other spirits and craft beer as well. You can also bring your own cigars with you and it's not an issue for them.
I found the staff to be very knowledgeable about their cigars as well as the spirits and the recommendations on pairing have generally been good.
Some cigar bars are essentially cigar shops with a small seating area, but this is a true cigar bar. It's a place where you go smoke your entire cigar, drink and relax without feeling the need to go anywhere.
The unspoken dress code here seems to be smart casual, so pants or dress jeans and...
