Just okay.
The service, location is amazing. We had great experiences with our server and the rest of staff, specially with a new busy restaurant. The reason for the 2 stars is the atmosphere and the food/drinks.
Overall, the appearance is okay but the chairs are uncomfortable, the place was extremely loud but I wasn't wowed like I have been for other fox concepts. It feels like I've seen this kind of moody lighting/wood accents/random pictures on the wall place before and it's nothing to write home about.
The food and drinks are disappointing. We ordered the Dirty and the D&P. The dirty martini tasted more citrus/orange peel and very light on the brine. Dirty martinis need to taste like brine/olive not orange in my opinion. The D&P had very light pickle taste but we were left disappointed and didn't finish them.
The food was just okay. Nothing special or interesting to write home about. The oysters and crab salad - go to Buck and Rider instead. You'll great a better quality meal. The mignonette had a whisper of onion/just tasted more like vinegar and when we asked for horseradish we got a horseradish cream. There's other amazing restaurants like Maple and Ash and Ocean 44 that have better cocktails and food. I feel like they also are missing that unique thing that will make people come back again like that one amazing cocktail or dish. Ex. Thea has those amazing dips that are truly unique to them. We will try Swan Society again in a month or 2. Maybe they will refine things... or scrap this and just reopen a Little...
Read moreUpdate on our second visit: The service remains efficient and attentive (Hopefully you'll be lucky enough to experience Simona❤️). The manager was very much present and the food remains perfectly proportional (I prefer quality or quantity).
The most disappointment I experienced came from a few guests. The lack of respect towards the staff, and entitlement I witnessed caused second-hand embarrassment. You are at a restaurant in Scottsdale, located in a mall. From my experience, the leadership and staff put a huge amount of effort in creating a delightful experience for us guests. Be kind and respectful or stay home. Also, if you do notice an area of improvement, Im sure they appreciate you sharing your experience. Ask for the manager or an email and respectfully provide your feedback. No need to be an unkind human.
Also, I heard a guest complain that the restaurant was too loud. How sad of a human are you if people laughing and talking with friends and family upsets you?????
Our first visit: A complete experience. The entire staff is welcoming, attentive and efficient, the menu is satisfying to anyone's preferences and the vibe is 🔥. Definitely a significant addition to Scottsdale's culinary options. Looking forward to visiting again. (This time we'll book in advance to avoid a 9:30pm dinner...
Read moreI'm always intrigued when Sam Fox opens a new restaurant, so I went there for a weekend lunch. They sat us in a corner of the bar with a great view of a wall, which wasn't so great. The first glass of water they brought was ice cold and further refills were room temperature. I like my water cold, but that wasn't a huge deal. I ordered the Chicken Francese. Service was a little slow, but I was with a friend, so we were able to catch up while we waited. When the chicken arrived, it came with a small pitcher of the lemon sauce. The server offered to pour it over the chicken for me, but I declined - sometimes lemon sauces can be too lemony and I didn't want to drown my chicken in it. After tasting it, I determined that this sauce was absolutely delicious - not too lemony at all - perfectly balanced. The chicken was a large portion and PERFECTLY cooked. The broccolini was also good. I opted to get the add-on of pasta (which really should be part of the dish) and had a complete dish. It was also delicious. This is NOT one of those snooty restaurants that refused to put salt and pepper on the table, which I respect. However, everything on the dish was perfectly seasoned and didn't need extra salt. I will definitely be going back soon for the...
