Dundee's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Seaside

This restaurant looks to get quite a few good reviews and I won't deny that the food was pretty good.

My wife and I went there a few weeks ago while we were vacationing in Seaside. My complaint is not with the quality of the food but how it was prepared.

Where we were seated my wife had a direct line of sight looking into the Dundee's kitchen. While we waited for our order to arrive my wife noticed that one of the cooks preparing and the good was not wearing gloves. He touched his face and then proceeded to plate food with his ungloved hands.

When our food arrived neither myself or my wife really wanted to eat it after we saw what was going on back there. We told our waitress that we wanted to speak to management. We wife explained what she saw and that we both wanted our food remade and with gloves on this time.

As we could see into the kitchen from where we were, we saw the cook put gloves on. The food was remade and was a really good meal.

The real icing on the cake was that I went to use the bathroom just before we were leaving. The bathroom just so happens to be right next to the kitchen. I also ended up having to wait because someone else was already using the bathroom. While I was waiting I glanced into the kitchen. All three employees working back there were not wearing gloves again and I saw two of them directly touching the food. One man was putting fries onto a plate with his bare hands. A woman was scooping lettuce into a plastic container without gloves on.

I know they wash their hands and everything, and maybe its just me, but I find the lack of gloves while preparing and handling food is disgusting. It should just go without saying that gloves are a must.

My wife and I came in Sunday morning after seeing the lines everywhere else for breakfast. We already had plans to have dinner here so we figured we would try out breakfast.

OH MY GOODNESS, we're never going to another place in Seaside for breakfast. Nothing else comes close! My wife ordered the biscuits & gravy combo, I ordered the sweet cream pancakes with sausage & egg, we added a side of home fries; eggs cooked perfectly to medium, biscuits were fluffy and gravy delicious, the pancakes were light h fluffy and the sausage was so flavorful! The home fries were a perfect pairing for the gravy and for the egg yolks; crispy but soft. Everything came out super fast too! [10/10☆]

We also planned to be here for dinner for our 15th anniversary. The dinner environment was a bit more active thanks to the NFL Playoffs being on, but the service was still exceptional! The Texas Egg Rolls were UNBELIEVABLY GOOD! Wife had the Western Bacon Cheeseburger with fries, I had the Bacon Mac & Cheese Burger with sweet potato fries. HOLY COW WAS IT ALL FANTASTIC!! I haven't eaten that much food in a single sitting in awhile but it was so good I had to. [15/10☆]

A last minute trip to the Seaside Oregon Coast. After the beach and the Aquarium we chose Dundee's Bar & Grill. The reviews and online menu helped us make the choice. We had the artichoke & spinach dip which was very full favored. It comes with tortilla chips and sliced baguette bread. Also we had the Texas egg rolls. A unique approach to jalapeno poppers. It comes with red pepper Jelly. We enjoyed this starter. For our entree we chose the Combo pizza which was on special at the time. $18 for the 15" family size. Nice crispy crust and toppings were plentiful. They were on top of the cheese however. I felt it could use more sauce though. So if you like a saucy pizza ask for extra sauce on it. We liked it none the less. Nice atmosphere though, not too much of a bar scene here. Excellent beer selection which was displayed on several large screens in the place. Many TV's Here show sporting events as well. Our server has 26 years experience and it showed. Very personable and easy to enjoy. They brought the starters first and then the pizza. Nice timing. We got a box for our leftovers. There were plenty by the way.
