We went to Cairde Public House for dinner on Saturday February 24, 2024. The place was busy but finally found 2 adjacent tables where the people were waiting for their bill so they could leave. They told me it would be ok if we stood near the tables because they had been waiting a very long time for the bill and hoped it would not be much longer. After they left, we sat at the dirty tables thinking the staff would be over shortly to clean the table and take our order, it was clear the dirty dishes and glasses were from the party before us. For 40 minutes we watched as the wait staff walk past our tables without acknowledging our presence and saw two smaller tables get seated, drinks and dinner delivered. We got fed up to the point where my daughter in-law bussed the tables while I went to find the waiter working our area. He followed me back to our tables, he apologized for the long wait, wiped down the tables and took our food and drink orders. I asked if he could comp our drinks due to the long wait and he indicated that he could. Dinner finally arrived after another long wait. After yet another long wait, the bill was delivered and the drinks were not comped. The waiter said he would send the manager over. The manager arrived at the table with an attitude and asked what was the problem. I explained the situation over the long wait and seeing tables being seated get waited on and that we expected the drinks would be comped based on what the waiter said. She immediately got argumentative and said everyone was waiting and the tables that were seated after us and served first were reservations, which seems weird because Cairde is a seat yourself establishment. She also said the waiter never said he would comp the drinks which infuriated me even more because she was not in the area when I was talking to the waiter so there is no way she could have know what was said. I truly feel sorry for the staff because it is clear they are extremely overworked and have to work for a manager who does not know anything about customer service or how to run a restaurant/bar. After reading several other reviews online, this seems to be a systemic problem and really hope the staff is able to find better jobs at establishments that have an adequate number of wait personnel and...
Read moreWe have been trying to get leadership from my company into the market after months of rescheduling (Covid!) and we finally landed on a date everyone could commit to.
What we DIDNT think to double check was the football schedule. The perfect Monday for our team meeting was also the Season home opener for the Seahawks.
Trying to find a location that wasn’t packed that night for planning purposes was going to be impossible. Or so we thought.
A co worker also lives in the neighborhood and recommended Cairde.
I called and Martha, the owner, answered. She immediately understood what we were trying to do and said she’d be thrilled to host us.
When we arrived, Martha was able to section off a space for our group and had an amazing server waiting on us.
All of the food we ordered was amazing (and so fast). Our server, I am forgetting her name (please forgive me!) was phenomenal. My team kept commenting that they felt like they were true VIPs because our amazing server (insert name here!) remembered everyone’s drink orders AND names!!
All of this also happened while the rest of the space was packed - and watching a very intense football game!
It was a really fun environment to help my team get a feel for the city, they got to celebrate with locals - all the while the service and food far exceeded expectations on a night where we were prepared to have things be overwhelmed BECAUSE of the game and how busy they were.
I would 1000% recommend visiting and I’m looking forward to my next trip to Seattle - especially knowing I’ve found a spot that I’ve claimed as mine.
Thank you everyone for your...

if your goal is to feel like an unwelcome inconvenience in someone’s garage, not a paying customer at a restaurant. Our whole group was in disbelief, wondering if we had accidentally walked into a hidden camera show.
Let’s start with the delightful service: nothing says “we value you” quite like having food practically thrown on the table by a server who looked like she was counting down the seconds until she could quit. And asking for a better version of the drink we were served? Silly us! Apparently, this establishment operates on a strict “you get what you’re given and you’ll like it” policy. The flat-out refusal to even acknowledge the complaint was a bold customer service strategy, I’ll give you that.
Now, the bar—oh, the bar! I asked for an orange soda (because your menu literally shows a picture of Fanta), and was met with a level of mockery you’d expect from a high school cafeteria, not a business. The bartender laughed, saying “dude, you’re at a bar, you don’t get orange soda,” like I had just requested unicorn tears. When shown your own online menu, he snarked “stop showing me pictures from a supermarket.” Genius! If you’re going to steal stock photos from a supermarket flyer, maybe don’t act surprised when customers expect the items in them.
So congratulations. If your aim was to give off a warm, hostile energy and a complete lack of professionalism, mission accomplished. We’ll be telling everyone—because some experiences are too hilariously awful...
