THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! The lack of customer service from this company is appalling. It is my understanding that I was lied to, led to believe that she actually consulted a manager, Refused to be able to communicate with the manager, and then told that the show that my tickets were for are not coming back within the timeframe she gave me to use company credit. I just called and spoke with someone in the call center named Christie. I informed her that I had purchased tickets for the October 26 show. She asked me why I needed a refund. I explained that the person whose birthday I was celebrating needs to go out of town beginning October 9 to take care of a family matter. She reported to me that refunds can only be issued by a manager, and she was going to contact them. About 45 seconds later, she came back on the phone and stated the only thing she could do was give me a company credit to use by June of next year. I inquired would the performers that we have originally purchased the tickets for going to be returning to Seattle In that timeframe. She reported no. I told her that a credit is of no use to me. I requested to speak to the manager myself. It was 5:50pm. She reported there was no manager available. I asked her what happened to the manager that she consulted about my getting a refund. She stated that they had no refund policy. I explained to her that if that were true, she would not have even asked me why I needed the refund, nor would she have voluntarily stated she was going to ask the manager. She told me that the managers were in a different building and they were about to close to prepare for a dress rehearsal. I expressed again that if the manager is not available, did they tell her that or is she making an executive decision on her own. She reported that she just knows they’re not available. Christie went on to report that she sent the manager and instant message the first time. I asked her was she refusing to send another message and let him know that the customer wanted to speak with him. She stated that they were closing in less than 10 minutes and that the manager was unavailable. I told her that I wanted her name and the name of whomever it is that she spoke to about my original inquiry. She said the manager’s name was John. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS...
Read moreMy husband and I love the Seattle opera. Yes tickets are expensive but you pay for culture. So tonight, we saw The Flying Dutchman. OMGoodness! Incredible. So it was a little under 2 1/2 hours without intermission. Yes a little long, but think of the incredible orchestra in the pit!!!! Performing flawlessly for almost 2.5 hours without a break!!!!! Amazing!!! Our Dutchman was played by Mr Greer Grimsley he was fantastic. Our Senta (I think) was played by Ms Rebecca Nash. She was absolutely darling. The Seattle Opera has been doing such a great job bring different shows every year. From The Pearl Fishers, to Mary Queen of Scotts, tonight, The Flying Dutchman. And there's more that I haven't mentioned. I've never been disappointed. Unlike ACT Theater that has really lost its touch unfortunately. If you've got the money. Would love to give your girl an unforgettable experience take her to the opera. It's not like what you think. No big woman in a Viking outfit with long blond braids tied up in princess Leah buns screeching at the top of her lungs. Yes it is foreign but they have subtitles above the stage. Giving you the idea of what they are singing without detracting from the acting. And let me tell you, there's fantastic actors there, along with a...
Read moreI recently saw "The Magic Flute" and was pretty disappointed. They made significant edits to Mozart's opera to make it more politically correct (removing references to slavery for example) and so several of the scenes had lines in them that didn't really make sense. They also tried to reimagine the opera as a black and white silent film, and so all of the character's dialogue was removed and all the performers were dressed in black for every scene (kind of reminded me of the pilgrims). There was no set, just a movie theater screen with crude animations that coincided with what was happening. The animations didn't change much during the scenes which made it pretty boring. Many people in the audience were falling asleep, and many of the people that were awake were intoxicated (the opera has a free alcohol deal with season tickets) and people were cheering and laughing loudly at inappropriate times. It felt more like a sporting event or a comedy club than a serious performance. For a student performance or cheaper ticket prices I wouldn't mind but for over $100/ticket it was not worth it. I'd recommend taking a trip to see an opera in a...
