TL;DR: it's a modern tiki bar with an excellent spin on atmosphere, killer drinks, and great food to go along.

Top notch food and drink with excellent service. A bunch of people (Critiki, et al) bash the clean look of the bar. I feel they are really missing the point. The bar has a mid-century modern, home tiki bar feel, precisely what I was driving towards in my home tiki bar. The aqua tile, nautical touches, and extensive wood make the place feel homey, comfortable, with a proper mid-century design. About the only thing missing is vintage Broyhill furniture.

The food is all gorgeous, excellent quality, and priced fairly. The tartare and albacore are as tasty and complex as they are in presentation. Even the duck sliders are great to look at. Spoiler alert: the sliders also equally righteous on the palate, and on the happy hour menu at a steal of a price.

The cocktails are made with the attention one would expect. The size and quality are exactly what I would expect and I see no fault in the pricing. My acid test of any tiki bar is the Mai Tai. Navy Strength delivers. I have now tried almost everything on the cocktail menu and I found everything to be worth drinking. This place is one of my favorite bars, and I've gotta say that a number of the negative reviews have me laughing. I'll admit, the service can be slow at times, surprisingly moreso when it's slower because it's usually a limited staff making pretty complex drinks. And they are really great drinks! Unlike some super sweet, over strong "tiki" drinks, these ones are legit! Even with enough ice you worry how there's any liquor in it, they're still strong and the classics still follow their original recipes perfectly! Not to mention the house specialties, which have solidly been great as well! It can be a bit loud later at night when it gets busy, but it's really comfortable to sit and just relax during happy hour, so whatever your speed, it's good. As to the staff, they've always been great! I've gotten to know several bartenders here and they've regularly made my experience enjoyable. Between the drinks, the fun atmosphere, and the excellent staff, this place has yet to be dethroned as one of my favorite bars!
